Hi,

Is it possible to configure the unifi router to block adult content stuff to certain handphones?

Example, i wanna filter out selected words like "f..k, s.x, a.s' etc from my daughters handphone when she connects to my home unifi.

Thx

Sorry, unker no drills

U can do it but need to use a proxy server, the default unifi router dun have this feature others i dunno. another solution is using content filter but need to install on the device. can use such as this one (as an example..i'm not responsible if it cause problems smile.gif).

http://www1.k9webprotection.com/

this type of content filtering have some annoyance also.. such as blocking some legitimate website (miss-categorization..etc). maybe u can try which solution works for u.. good luck.

Maybe you should monitor her internet usage. My brother don't allow his kids using tablet and internet without supervision.

If u have around 300RM budget, go get some old pc, 3-4 years of age, intel celeron, core 2 duo, 512mb ram and hdd space enoughinstall pfsense. Oh dun forget to get a dual nic and wireless nic that can turn to AP. Ive configured mine cost less than 350RM all in.

Install pfsense and install those proxy module, such as squid. Pfsense can be a very powerfull tool as a router, firewall, WAF and AP if you configure it right

You dont need to install anything on end client device.

Instead of sheltering your kids, why not explain to them the harms of it. Try out sex education, it works.

Antivirus can do the softway.

Tm unifi standard router is very basic dont think it can blacklist websites unless u change to a better router.

Bad idea. She'll either find a way to bypass it which is just gonna be harder for you in the future or she'll end up doing the very thing you hope she doesn't. Why do parents nowadays like to run away from the problem rather than face the problem? People are so lazy nowadays.

Use DNS. but you cant specific target the client.

So you need to put filtered DNS on DHCP and use static Google DNS on your PC.

Usually teenagers interested with those words you've mentioned. You also typed daughters so i am assuming either your eldest and second already at puberty stage.

I am still young too and I dont mind accepting you as my future father in law to any of your daughters. They will be in good hand

the more you disallow, the more curious she becomes.
best to let her know, but teach her the dangers and benefits of it so that she can make her own decision next time.
