My monitor is arriving in about a week.

I picked this monitor over a 1080p TV 65" of similar price. I hope this is worth it since its 1/4 the size of a TV, and I already have a monitor.

Anybody have any opinions on this? I need reassurance I made the right choice! LOL

I bought it for gaming. Im running a single gtx 970

Single GTX970 don't think will be enough for even High settings gaming at that resolution

but mind sharing where did you bought this and how much?

really? T.T

I couldnt find this model in Malaysia, so I had to ask a friend overseas to buy it for me. It was on sale for about USD 900 for their black friday sales.

You've chosen the best monitor in the market right now imo. Great size, amazing resolution. 3440x1440  drool.gif

May I ask, where did you buy it from and how much?

Well, i couldnt find this model in Malaysia so i bought it overseas in the US

It just arrived today. first thing i noticed is that the stand is quite short.. the monitor only stands about 6-8cm off the ground.
Also all my text is small

Honestly, I dont really recommend it.

Pros: gorgeous design, very good if you multi-task or actually do work on it. text is completely legible unlike 4k monitors, great if you do alot of work but usually focus on one screen

Cons: the screen is soft and easily damaged, poor support for ultra wide screen gaming.

The dealbreaker: Most popular competitive shooters/MOBA dont support wide screen gaming (cuz it would be unfair), and youtube/tv shows are all 1080p leaving a very obvious side and top/bottom black bars. honestly, its the vertical bars that make it seem like im watching a Picture in Picture.

Ordered it overseas, had a friend bring it over for USD 900-ish.

I did, and all the reviews were stellar. They said it was great for gaming and movies. Unfortunately, very very few games actually support this resolution, and youtube looks bad.

What about watching movies? The 21:9 is a good ratio for movies.

True, it is a wider screen for movies, but since it's limited to 1080p anyways, it's no different thathan watching movies on a big TV..except without the distracting bars. However, in exchange, you get both vertical and horizontal bars on most mother content..IMHO not worth just for movies. That's why 22 or 21:9 TV fell out of favor
