so, the RM620 Core i5 4590 , is that good enough for most games at fullhd resolution, no-AA, 3d details at middle ?
what do ya think? Thinking of building LAN gaming setup at home, but the games we play are not graphics intensive (half life, cs, racing games)

19" monitor, Core i5 4590, cheap motherboard, rm200 (case+cpu) should be enough right ?

1280x720 should be fine at medium settings for old games. 1600x900 might be a problem.

Also, please avoid cap ayam PSU as well.

do install software to monitor your cpu temperature
u can try hwinfo or msi afterburner
use the OSD if the software support
do show the cpu temp in the trayicon for easy monitoring

i5 4590 integrate HD 4600
Old game should be ok, but recent release dont expect to play at 1080.. might have problem with 720 too.

If you don't want a discrete GPU, I'll suggest AMD A10-7850K
almost double the graphic performance
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=arti...eri_7850k&num=6

it's cheaper and most important, It's unlock

A10 7850K RM679
Asrock FM2A88XM-HD - RM219
Total:RM898

i3 4150 3.5GHz RM344
Asrock B85M-HDS RM239
Sapphire R7 250X 1GB GDDR5 RM319
Total:RM902

Still gonna go with the dGPU option anyday, plus, the cost of the performance RAMs is slightly expensive than value RAMs if you compare the 1600MHz value RAM at RM229 to a C9 1866MHz 4GB x2 RAM which is about RM32x-33x IINM.

If that A10-7850K goes performance RAM, can even get i5-4460 + R7 250 combination using H81M-VG4(RM159) motherboard. R7 250 still steamrolls A10-7850K built-in GPU.

Core i5-4460 > A10-7850K CPU
Sapphire R7 250 1GB DDR5 > A10-7850K GPU

intel HD4600 can play max out on dota 2 with 1080p. if u wanna play really smooth & silky just stick with 720p.

Asrock FM2A88XM-HD - RM215

*Price of Tech View (latest update, Intel price raise)

Current performance ram drop a lot
Value RAM 2x4GB 1600 asking price like 260-280
[ RipjawsX ] F3-2400C11D-8GXM / 8GB (4GB x 2) / 2400Mhz RM299

performance wise? 7850K is unlock multiplier, which can easily up to 4.4Ghz. come cloese to 4150
Gaming? Well, Minecrafter recommended spec will perform 20%++ better because the 250X is way better then A10 GPU, but 500 watt power supply is require according to sapphire http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/p...n=&lid=1&leg=0#

But Instead of 4150, I'll recommend the Intel G3258 (unlock multiplier)
RM218

Put the rest of the money to get a R7 260X 2GB RM429

You do realize R7 250X is a big performance difference compare to APU. Oh wait, can even get R7 260X with RM1099 total for APU setup. Or can get i5 for RM200 more for even more A10-7850K smoking.

Kingston 8GB DDR3-1600 x1 - RM234

Just get the i3 4150.The G3258..yes,it can be OCed but it still can't beat i3 4150 and games are starting to utilise more cores, the G3258 have 2 Cores and 2 Threads, the i3 4150 have 2 Cores and 4 Threads. tongue.gif

Sorry for bringing up a old topic..but this topic is exactly what I would like to know..

Comparing Intel Core I5 4590 and AMD A10 7850K..both similar price..

By looking at those reviews I found, Core I5 4590 has better CPU performance compared to A10 7850K. However, the A10 7850K GPU performance is a lot better compared to Intel HD Graphics 4600..

Would like to know, if I choose Intel Core I5 4590 and use the Intel HD Graphics 4600, I use it to display 2 monitors with full HD resolution, 1 use for play full HD movie, another 1 use for web browsing(more than 10 tabs) and background running heavy resource software like Bluestacks..

Can Core I5 4590 with integrated graphic can support my usage? Or I need to opt for discrete GPU?

Besides that, planning to get Kingston HyperX Fury 1600MHz 8GB as the value ram price not much different with this performance ram.. Do the performance ram really help in overall PC performance with my usage? hmm.gif

The i5.... The integrated GPU of the A10 wasn't really fast, especially you will need fast RAMs to take advantage of them. sweat.gif
Not to mention a fast enough discrete card+i5 will likely to outperform an A10. sweat.gif

Yes, the integrated graphics should do it just fine. icon_idea.gif

Performance RAMs won't make a lot of difference on Intel platforms, though since the price difference between HyperX Fury and Value are pretty small, therefore there's no harm getting them. wink.gif

The APU is slightly more efficient than GPU

Performance wise it is better vs any intergrated GPU

You can run alot of games with the APU, but when comparing with the discrete card, the APU is lagging behind
