I think its depents, if the system is designed well and can be used and maintained easily, even a noob knows how to manage without problem then you are in danger. But there arent a system/system is bad, custom management is needed and lots of problem needs experience to solve, then your value is higher.
IE the 999 operator in malaysia is easy cause no matter who call or where they call, they just say, please call your nearest police station/fire department/hospital, even a 5 years old child know how to do it. Compare to 911 in US, they are trained to handle all kind of situation, IE you chopped your finger, they will ask you look for ais, put your finger in it and their experts are on their way to connect it back. Ask yourself what kind of job u are doing ?

QUOTE(zen10 @ Sep 20 2006, 01:21 AM) well. that depends on which com your working. In my com im doing the one leg kicking stuff.sometimes process the data ,do the technical support stuff ,add new user to the server ,print out reports, sit all day with nuting to do. I hope you know what that means. Thats the job for 'da zap', what is the future of your job ? You arent specialized in any field, everything know a little do you no good, the world is now all about professional, a professor does not need to know how to start/shut down a computer, or open the casing if he knows how to make a rocket fly. You do all these stuff not because you are good, its because you cant do something else more useful(like get a sales/customer/idea for your company which to makes money, those who only knows how to spend/save money are the ones who are being chopped if the company wants to slim).
