on the midfield
RVP | Falcao/Wilson/Rooney
Rooney/Mata (Upgrade? Reus/Herrera/(need to find a silva type of player a good link between the 2 strikers/forwards)
herrera | Di Maria
carrick/blind (Why strootman?, strootman will be a slight upgrade of blind and 3 players in the same position) Vidal however would be a massive upgrade who can score goals and be probably as good or better than roy keane.
The other 3 players AM and 2 CM's i field are good enough Janujaz can slot in that role or AM role. Somehow I feel we still lack a world class striker/forward like costa/aguero/etc. Not sure if Reus is the right choice but you dont have too many available options in the market, I feel benzema will be a great buy if Falcao doesn't work out.
Probably a diamond position against stronger teams and 3-4-1-2 position against weaker teams so we can run riot. I really like the possession football we're playing but it needs to be more penetrative and the intelligent brain behind, Mata is good enough but i feel he's very niche in what he does and the game needs to be built around him while someone like a xavi/fabregas/etc playing in the whole would create a truck of chances if the chemistry works very well between the 3. This also brings the other midfielders into play. I wonder if Di Maria can play there effectively and well too because he has the speed, trickery, passing to do well in that area but u generally do not need speed in that position u just need superb passing skills and great positioning skills and a huge bonus being able to drive and dribble pass defenders or drag them to u as u open space for other players and your forwards.
We can ignore upgrading that and just fully focus on upgrading the defence fully but i feel Chelsea still has something extra in Costa & Fabregas that we should look to reach in terms offense. Hopefully Falcao just comes of good and we dont need an additional striker. If we play 4 -3 -3.
The play style currently is very different from the old united because we were more of a collective of individuals who performed well rather than a collective unit play. Both works, it's just the english style to hone individual skills more than collective intelligence plays like spanish or german sides.
