AD2000? Owhwhh...Much better?
*
Well... Let's just say that its the top dog of AD series

anyway, M30 new user reporting in!
Frankly,it's my first audio technica stuff.and I'm glad that it's a can.I always want my first can to be audio's.(I have creative's,but let's skip that sweat.gif)

everytime I wanna buy a sennheiser or beyer's can,I always looks back to audio technica, coz the design is so cool.just can't resist.I always feel that audio technica is more to my taste, and after tryng M30,no I know, audio technica IS for me.

my opinion bout the M30,though lots say that the sound siggy for audio technica is more neutral.not too aggresive(but not as laid back as senn),for me,M30 quite 'wild' as the bass can be punch and full.mids are great and like Bro CLF said, the details that i never heard before all surfaced up.I can even hear the how awkward the singer sing, like 'betterr' instead of 'better'.this is no 'neutral' can tongue.gif.all in all, even on iPod,without EQ,M30 have satisfy my hunger for good quality music.worth every cent.

ps:now becoming more greedy, thought of buying an amp, becoz I need to max out my iPod volume to feel M30 full potential.but want a simple2 first la.what do guys say bout Fiio?ok or not?

Owh,and thx to Akabane for the M30. smile.gif

Waa... ad eyeing on lots of thing i see... laugh.gif

Well....u right..kinda greedy rite?but fc700 design is so cool.just can't resist.the round circular exterior cup design is so tempting.it's like the one in ps2 game,Persona 3 tongue.gif .

Well..for M50, blame CLF tongue.gif

and the AD series, they say it's the most popular series because less complain by the users of this series.so kinda itchy to try.Gosh...I am greedy.somebody stop me sweat.gif

Bro, if you wanna listen the AD series, we can meet up someday. But for my reference i use AD2000, AD Flagship

[attachmentid=1113864]
Bro, your "CANS" still need to burn in more as my AD2000 (burn in more than 1000 hours) is already in a very well controlled and i don think is lack of bass. But the best pairing for the Amp get the Secret Amp to amp it...
*
ahhaa.sure.i will find some time ok.woo..that AD2000 do looks tasty tongue.gif

Wah AD2000  drool.gif

tried AD100PRM before but not AD2000, heard ppl say it sounded similar.

from my own experience, AD1000PRM is superior in female vocal region where its high is very good.

gonna work part time for the next summer holiday to save up enough to get a AD2000 or a W series
*
how much is AD1000? and this might sound stupid, but AD2000(and i saw AD500 kot..cant remember)they have (metal..i think) grills instead of closed plastic case like M30 or FC700,why?got special reason??

W1000 sounds like a good upgrade..
I was thinking of getting Secret Amp, but...Still second thoughts about it..
*
i thought of secret amp also..but how do it looks aa??portable type or the big-on-the-table type? tongue.gif

AD series are open type headphones... FYI there is A series for closed type... M30 and FC700 falls in closed type category...
Open: Gud soundstage, lack isolation, lack bass
Closed: lack soundstage, gud isolation, gud bass

some pictars of secret amp http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/972446
*
aih??FC700 closed ek?not open??i thought open as its more comfortable and not head-clamping like M30(yes,Im feeling the clamping now..after almost 2 hours of wearing..my..its hurt .. sweat.gif)

I'm guessing you were referring to supra-aural headphones?

I believe FC700 is a circumaural type with closed-back.
*
hoo...i see.though FC700 is portable type,it still circumaural??my..my..what a misunderstanding sweat.gif

anyway, this means it good good isolation rite?another reason for me to buy FC700 thumbup.gif

and thx bro smile.gif

now im confused blink.gif

owh.one thing.i realise the design of FC700 and ES7 almost alike la.and FC700 wire not so thich like M30(very long summore sweat.gif)

you can say that is a high treble..naturally the driver design it that way,,Audio Technica is a bit unique even bright the charateristic still there...
*
owh...i see.so warm means the treble arent too high rite?.ok.thanks bro.

lol

Circumaural; earpads completely covers/closes/surrounds the whole ear. Supra-aural; earpads only sit on top of the ears and do not cover around them.

So from what towkey have pointed out, FC700 might be more of the latter rather than the former.
*
ok...i see now.so it wont have comfort issues rite as it only sit at top of the ears

hello fellow forumers ^^
i can to ask sumthing abt audio technica...
whats the differance between ATH-Pro700 n the ATH-M50?
and whats the price of these two headphone?...
i like bass.. RNB... and especially gaming... can it deliver my needs? im very new abt audiophile.. pls advice me thank you very much ^^
*
if not mistaken,

M series=for monitoring sound or music
Pro series=for DJ

Im quite a noob, but I think,Pro series are keen to the bass side(music like dance and R&b) compare to M series. But,some says that M series is better for gaming as its a headphone for monitoring purposes.

U have to ask urself,do u more into games than music,or more music rather than gaming?

M50= RM767
Pro700=RM700

from Akabane.

*
ahahah.I think go for Pro700 la.because its more into bass head.M50 not so bassy, some say less than its little brother,M30.I owned M30,its quite bassy, but not suite for dance and hip hop(black eyed peas's Boom Boom Pow sound sad tongue.gif ).so imagined how not-so-bassy M50 is.so go Pro700.cheaper too.just my personal opinion icon_rolleyes.gif

*
i think, its like u can have almost all detail in the sound,or music.which kinda good for gaming.,maybe footsteps or bullets dropping(reminds me of counter strike lol )
well, maybe this aint appropriate as this is audio technica thread, but i read in headfi,pro700 not isolate much and the bass aint that good.maybe u can ask CLF more bout M50.
(i read lots suggest beyer DJX-1 or DT660 rather than pro700 for basshead,as their price is almost the same)

still possible to order through the forumers who're doing bulk here. smile.gif
some people to suggest that for heavy-bass, find some other brands instead of AT. AT is more to mid-highs.
*
Rue indeed.even my M30 that i thought bassy, now not so bassy after almost 100 of burn in.the bass calm down and the high start showing off.walabies used to suggest me beyer smile.gif

i bought ATH-M30 today, i feel the bass of this headphone is not strong

need it to burn-in?

Added on August 5, 2009, 6:35 pmthe burn-in means what actually?

just leave it open?
*
burn in is,just plug in ur headphone to any source, play the song, and leave it.its not necessary to leave it lay on the table,u can listen to it.i mean, burn in is like keep using ur headphone.thats all.ur daily usage of using headphone also called burn in.simply said, just use it smile.gif .after using it for 100 hours,200,500 hours,u will feel the difference in the sound quality.thus, that is burn in.some say, play it at volume level a little bit higher that u usually do,but dont too high, got some case it damaged the headphone sweat.gif

and yes,the bass is not too thumping, and after some time,u will realise, the bass gonna become much2 tamer brows.gif .so try to bear it tongue.gif

but seriously, this is how audio technica is,rite?(i talk like im some guru of audiophiles sweat.gif )

M30 as it's more balance and all rounder.bass also not too weak.for t22, it's like a rather lower grade than m30 if il not mistaken.so IMO, M30.

T22 has more bass than the M30, a lot, in fact. But M30 can't be blamed for that since it's a monitoring headphone which excels in detail and clarity.
*
but now its too bright ady.treble quite high... cry.gif
the mids and high are killing me,(maybe its the ipod)but soon gonna turn on the bass booster EQ. blush.gif
