wierd.even a 384kBps like mine can play Pangya without lagging, though youtube videos is out of the question tho.
that's wireless broadband for u.u should study more b4 getting it to play your online games.
this one interesting.u should be in a high-speed 3G area.maybe building obstruction?try putting the modem nearer to a window.

pangya is a turn-based game, so u wont feel lagging, but if u r playing mmorpg (which need faster respone time) like WOW, MAPLE etc then u will feel lagging.

when i start using this MAXIS Wireless Broadband from Feb 2007 for online gaming(WOW Taiwan), i only get around 200ms latency(reading from WOW latency meter) and there is no dc issue. But starting from May(i guess that Maxis start the filtering on P2P in this month), the latency become more than 1000ms and always dc. mad.gif

hmm.. i just call the maxis operator, regarding the maxis 3g broadband. what he said to me, if u like to p2p and play online gaming, DONT WASTED UR MONEY ON IT.. it doesnt support u.. later u will complain and keep complain.. if u just surfing internet, yes u can go for it. so honestly maxis staff.. thanks. anyway, i didnt subcribe..  rclxm9.gif

On-line games, uninterupted and fast! <-- this is what they show in there website
Subscribe since FEB, starting regret since MAY (latency after MAY become higher and higher until cannot play MMORPG and always lost connection with game server). Now have to stop playing WOW after playing for 1 year cry.gif

Anyway, even surfing internet is bad oso. e.g: if u r viewing a photobook then u will noticed that sometime the photo stop loading before loaded complete.

Use -tracert in command window and i noticed that some of the data packets is actually "missing", so i wonder is that their "filter server"(to filter out P2P connection??? not sure how they do it...) causing the high latency and "missing data packets"??

doh.gif another 12 months to go before i can cancel the service (another 12 months for regret)
sweat.gif If i rate 0 for Streamyx then i rate -10 for Maxis Wireless Broadband sweat.gif

Basically i am Penang user of Maxis broadband.
I would said maxis broadband user should know what i am saying.
When first subscribe, it reach 120kbps - 200 ++ . Damn fast.
Later, it gradually reduce .. ( really don know what is the intention of it.....)
Maybe user increase? or just let you happy at first and let you suffer 17 months later?
hm.....

Connection Speed :
384 package user (RM68)
speed terrbily slow download : 70 Kbps .  upload = around 20 kbps Location  : Air itam . House : Single Storrey House.
Maxis broandband = signal dependant and location depedent. ( Think twice if you live in condo / flat, you signal is damn sucks!)
Remember to see terms and condition. Building height did matters!? hm...
bittorent user don't use it! yeah , it did limit bittorent for better connection. Yeah damn right.
Maxis you are damn true.. but yet the connection still sucks without BITTORENT.
WHAT IS THE IDEA OF IDLE? So you can auto Disconnect user for better CONNECTION AGAIN?

Then how you explain the following thing :
Modem hardly connected to internet? ( so true, ask la maxis bb user, when they connect using that stupid menu 192.168.0.1 )
User did not idle, still browsing , yet DC?
MSN IM user hardly connect?
Yahoo Messenger hardly connect?
basically it like most of the thing hardly connect?

BROADBAND connection is means always connected and 256 kbit/s (0.256 Mbit/s) or more is considered broadband Internet. Not means Disconnect user when they idle and your maxis bb speed is reducing so much nowadays. I am nearly dial up speed already. hahahaha!!

Maxis don call yourself broadband! better said Maxis Mobile internet( Ranging from GPRS to HSPDA) . Pls change your name. It make your customer confused!! i feel so cheated!
I am so regret to subcribe it.

Customer service :
very sucks. another kind of services that really make me mad! Just like tmnut

Agreed.
I used it to play WOW and the latency is very low for first 2 month and i have to say bye bye to WOW after that(HIGH LATENCY, DC) mad.gif
Even for surfing, it was at least 10x time slower than screamyx to load a photo.
I dont know wat is Maxis definition of HIGH SPEED?
If HIGH SPEED = HIGH BANDWIDTH, then they are failed!
If HIGH SPEED = LOW LATENCY, then they are failed too!
Maybe for Maxis HIGH SPEED = PEAK SPEED (which u may get it around 5am) doh.gif

Sign up screamyx --> Regret for 12months sweat.gif
Sign up maxis wbb --> Regret for 18 months + regret for switching from screamyx(at least screamyx less DC) rclxub.gif

A : Can't...You still need to get a standard modem. That one is nice for travelling only

That mean Maxis will give the user 2 modems? 1 ZTE and 1 USB?? With only 1 sim card?? rclxub.gif
So current user can request the USB modem from Maxis? hmm.gif
