im using this kinda tech in france now.
wut i can say,eventhough p2p restricted,
i still can use skype...

anyway,its exp.
70euro/month unlimited time and bandwidth.

hello sunny,
nice to hear fr you again.....
how is life in france now?
is the avatar your france awek?

ok to fellow forumers, i am using digi mobile broadband.......
rm99/mth.......but not actually cause i my fren supp. his data sim to me and i only pay him rm66/ mth ( rm99.00 + rm33.00 = rm132, then rm132 divide by 2 = rm66.50)
speed is decent compared to dialup..........
getting mostly abt 120 kbps ~ 160 kbps.....
downloading p2p like limewire and bittorrent is faster abt 180 kbps ( dunu why )
BUT there is no limit to the amount of downloading you do
i can surf in places which hav digi signal much better than wifi which is available in limited places
so it is really worth it..........giv it a try.....

PACKAGE : MAXIS WIRELESS 3G 768 kbps (kilobits per second) || (768/8 = 96kiloBytes per second)
COVERAGE AREA : 17/2, PJ, KL
TEST RESULT :

[attachmentid=267439]

convert it to BYTE format, I am only get 34.375 kB/s.
*
imho depending on your area, the speed will also changes during weather changes

i am using digi edge. as can be seen on my sig i can get abt 160 kbps which is consider good. in the same area i tested wif my fren's celcom hsdpa the speed is abt 700kbps and screamyx is abt 800kbps based on the 1M package

i would like to clarify tat 8kbps is = to 1KBps ...............

so any confusion pls refer to this cause some ppl are really confused over kbps ( kilo bits per seconds) and Kbs ( Kilo Byte per seconds).............correct me if i am wrong tongue.gif

actually i hav tested Celcom 3.5GX.............. damn fast ( abt 600 ~ 1200 kbps depending on location which hav 3G) but i am looking at a better data offer fr celcom , esp now pc fair is in progress. for the benefit of your doubts, i wil be using a moto V3XX for the modem and and i am looking at the data sim package which currently being offered by celcom at their centre for rm120/mth for unlimited usage..........no nid to buy any data card, the v3xx is good enough and its cheap ( rm600 for a new AP set wif one year warranty)

the ideal spec

Data GPRS Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots), 32 - 48 kbps
HSCSD No
EDGE Class 10, 236.8 kbps
3G HSDPA 3.6 Mbps
WLAN No
Bluetooth Yes, v2.0
Infrared port No
USB Yes, miniUSB

V3XX

Many thanks for the reply.

Last I checked (and I checked many times!), the minimum contract period varies between 12 to 24 months.  This was one of the main reasons why I decided not to sign up with them.  It's OK to have minimum contract period if they subsidise the cost of hardware, for example, a 3G/HSDPA datacard, but if not, then it's unfair to the customer to insist on one - what if the service sucked?

bro i am using celcom 3G mobile broadband and subscribe to the D68 ( rm68/mth ) package and not tied to anything , juz pay deposit of rm68 and can terminate after using 1 mth too

Celcom has few other major disadvantages compared to Maxis and the best part is that they use this IP '219.93.152.3' <-- please go and check as it will be your IP wherever you go

http://www.google.com/search?q=219.93.152.3

On top of that , its been blocked by Project Honeymoon for its spamming. So In other words , One Malaysia (aka Whole of Celcom Broadband users are tied behind one single IP. If some idiot continues to abuse the service , the rest has to suffer). On the other hand , maxis assigns each unique individual IP for every customer (which has an advantage , compared to Celcom). There you go. You be the judge

I rather suffer with slow speed (like I did with JARING) rather then to be tied up in One big mumbo jumbo Shared IP Connection.

http://www.projecthoneypot.org/i_efaeb8253...f415d039a505043

No no no no , I am not Promoting Maxis nor I am pro-Maxis
*
my dear fren,

i dun care wat ever one ip assigned to all of malaysial ppl , as long i can surf at more than 384 kbps on a rm68/ mth package ...............tats called sial package..........

ie

But then you will face a problem. If your IP Address is blocked. You will have a problem such as certain MMORPG , Games and certain application that does not allow you to have more then 1 concurrent connections. But then if you are just using it for surfing , its not a problem. There is a problem there. I've just found out that Celcom has not really secured their proxy server and its currently blacklisted by few Spambots etc. So there is a problem there. I hope Celcom looks into that matter.

i hav edited my previous post to include a screenshot of my speed test and it still in haywire mode to let me surf at more than 384......... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Thats great.  Its because TM has a large backbone. Sadly , they still dont assign each individual address for Celcom Broadband users. Other then that , it seems to be a good alternative to maxis
