Weyh, this morning i downloding shreak2 movie.. stable speed ~160K. Suddenly my friend send a sms to me to my handphone (im using hotlink prepaid). Downloading speed decrease to 20K at that time. After about ~5 second, speed become ~160K back again.

So, signal sucked to my handpone at that time

Btw, yesterday I recevied direct mailer from Maxis Broadband asking me to sign up their service (HSDPA i.e 3.5G)...Offer is that all charges like installation, activation, deposit, bla bla bla are waive..Best part they waive they 18mth contract if I sign up during promo period. I only pay for subscription & modem rental fee only...

BTW, my roomate went to his friend's room@UM yesterday. Got maxis wbb and its subscribed at the same time as me (Mac 2007). My roomate try to download a movie using direct download, and you know what.. downloading speed ~350KB/s... is this a joke or a lie i ask him, then he confirm back to me that the downloading speed at ~350KB/s. What a speed...

I dun know if his friend moded his modem or not. And I oso curious about that speed.. thats is a crazy speed.. highest speed that i achive was ~240KB/s

1MB package can got up to 90Kbps using speedtest...If BT, sure throttle & drop to 10kbps...

bear in mind, kBps and kbps is totally different...

should be 90kB rather than 90kb coz 90kB is bigger than 90kb.

imho depending on your area, the speed will also changes during weather changes

i am using digi edge. as can be seen on my sig i can get abt 160 kbps which is consider good. in the same area i tested wif my fren's celcom hsdpa the speed is abt 700kbps and screamyx is abt 800kbps based on the 1M package

i would like to clarify tat 8kbps is = to 1KBps ...............

so any confusion pls refer to this cause some ppl are really confused over kbps ( kilo bits per seconds) and Kbs ( Kilo Byte per seconds).............correct me if i am wrong

All above area got 3G coverage...Convenient wise, u can use ur maxis 3G phone to connect as modem...
