I'm very frustrated with Maxis wireless broadband, the 1st month trial period is very fast,  connection is stable but after the trial period over, the connection become very lousy, disconnected every time. I think they didn't care about this because u already bounded to the contract. But this issue I don't wish to mention again, disappointed...

I just signed up for Maxis broadband yesday from 1 of their currently running promo booth in KL tht waived all others charges ~rm238 leaving only need to pay rm100 , & take modem on the spot, which i did.

upon returning home at wangsa maju at 3pm, connection is satisfactory (384kbps/1user) ,then many times slow (beyond words, almost cannot load) then i do my own drill -manual d/c, on/off, auto connect those kind a thing. even off the Bitcomet has no effect so i knew its not tht fault. I called up the 1800...# (it just ask me to do the drill).

after many desperate attempts toyin here &there it managed to load page well. however,im not too sure if it was my skill or the wifi signal 'returned'. anyway, i left it open bitcomet as i went out till midnit, i came back to surf, all went well upto next day morning (now), ive alr have dl of about 2Gb in 1 day (yesday until tis morning incl bitcom).

after the trial period, can i take this experience to assume tht the surfing speed will continue or expect the service to worsen  cus they know ur off the coolling period d? tis is highly concern to me as i don wan to be locked 1.5yrs immediate after passing the-point-of-no-return & service turn worse.

guess wht, atm of writing tis, Izzinet called me & talk abt their new service is up and alr using in wangsamaju here. he told me students in the past 1 wk has been using n no complain i dono true onot rm88 (for laptop only) cheapest. now i feel like wanto try it

Added on August 30, 2007, 11:05 amohya. i live very very near to the source (i know is unhealthy) and i surf indoor. they say no dl cap speed/bandwidth. wat u think. u think itl work for me? 88rm(1mb) x 12=1056

maxis 68rm (384kb upto 512kb but i think tis one once in few moons) x 12(lock 18 months)+rm100 activation=916rm
98 (7xxkb~1.5mb) x12 (same 1.5yrs lock)=1176rm

ya i oso just chg to "only WCDMA".
before ,it was WCDMA preferred & it keeps downgrading to GPRS in abt 15mins RSSI ~-7x dBm from 8x-9x

now thts its always hsdpa >-85 dBm but the speed is nowhere faster than gprs -7x dBm

ohya, on an unrelated case, my ex colleague oso using maxis but dono her wht package. she highly encourage me not to sign up for this, saying it is so very dam slow & unstable. now i really realised the hell she been thru.
today, my other fren who recently signup for streamyx abt 2 weeks, cussed and cursed whole day cus msn d/c due to streamyx unstability. so is his maxis hp line & his frens oso cannot receive call or make outgoing call. He said hes freeking mad i know ,cus he just missed an important date due to tht.

i just meaning to say, why are we msians have to endure with all these kinds of shit in telecommunications. we just wan basic needs fulfill thts all, isit very hard?

i got 341 kbps from maxis speed test but only 40kbps from other bandwitdh test like testmy.net.

i've been getting 20-30kbps download speed from maxis speed test for the past 3 months when i was in PJ.
When i m back in PG last nite the result from maxis speed test reaches 341 kbps amazingly but surfing n downloading from rapidshare is freakin slow like 5 KB/s....gawd dam..!

Maxis Speed test is a scam or wad?

i m gonna demand a termination of my 1.5 yrs contract very soon!
I think they should address their service as Maxis Wireless dialup instead!

My colleague staying in 12th Floor still get hsdpa. I believe it's also depends on the location of the transmission tower.

When I was in Menara Amcorp 9th floor, I got good speed also.

i was staying at Millenium Court Off jalan university, PJ for the past 3 months with a speed of 40-50 kbps
now i m at Penang, Greenlane with the speed of 300+ kbps on maxis speed test but still slow surfing n downloads.
when i check on testmy.net it shows only 60+ kbps. So which test is the right 1?

Can someone verify me that our speed (who sign up for 384 package) have been capped to 384kbps..?

me at segambut dalam (menara duta) there.. anyone stay there? how's the connection there? i planning to register 3g fr internet..

erm... can i use the sim provided by maxis for broadband (the package rm68 one) and put in into my pcmcia 3g card?

are there any cash and carry package now??

I have to say this

It has given me a bad impression on maxis. Their technicians are pretty rude over the phone. They called me this morning and when I answered the call they just address me by my name. There is no sir/encik/mister or any other greeting. I've to say that to maxis. It really puts me off. Oh on top of that he is coming tomorrow. I will keep you guys updated on it

I think I rather stick with Jaring WBB , if maxis is going at this rate. But nevertheless , there is 1 week trial

I can't get Jaring's speedtest to be uploaded..I'll do that again (Its around 400Kbps/55Kbps only)

I'll conduct the same speed tests again on my JARING Wireless broadband then we can compare it

Yes it is the truth...
Last time i saw it on my own when i try the connection at my friend's house.
I set the protocol encryption to force in bitspirit and yes i manage to connect some but....
The peers just drop within a second and 0kbps all over the day except after 1 am.

yesterday, just got the 2nd mth bill from Maxis but my problem still not yet solve ..
