I think for that processor standards that temp is normal. If u want to decrease the temp u have to change the HSF.

For Prescott proc is like that. Mine 2.8E also around 58 - 65Celcius(using stock HSF).
If u really wanna cool down ur CPU, change ur HSF to: Air Cooling.. CM Hyper 6+ (currently using 45 -50 Celcius). Quite Huge Scythe Ninja (also 1 of the best,& someone 1 is doing the bulk for this) Thermalright xp 120( good) Water Cooling.. thermatake SE... & many.... |

Don worry, ur proc wont burn 1.
I try encoding an avi to H.264 format, the temp reach up to 80. So it proves that INTEL Proc really can tahan heat. But seriously go change ur HSF a.s.a.p. At least less than 70 is consider ok. |

yours temperature is quite high, mine 1 also socket 478, idle temp jus around 40-45, full load is 61.
have u clean ur hsf by the way? |
