Rushing to lvl my gear to 30 now so i can finally join u guys for crota's raid. Btw i noticed the new lvl 26 vanguard roc has a chance of getting legendary engrams. I got 1 as a reward within 3 strikes.

Hmm.. I'm tempted to get back in and see the new content. Do I have to be level 30 to do Crota?

if u can buy the vanguard / crucible new gear better buy & upgrade that. all new legendaries max can get to level 31. my friend got so lucky after nightfall. he got new exotic helmet.

Level 31 is recommended. Starting at 30 is fine.
But later on gonna GG at Crota.

I'm really starting to think that level 30 is the bare minimum and 31 is highly recommended. 32 is the best of course, but I don't think anyone has enough radiant shards to go there yet.

This is just normal, and I shudder to think of the upcoming hard mode.

31 yes - using vanguard armor, exotics shards for exotics. But 32, you need to use raid gear, and those are upgraded using radiant shards.

ah ok gotcha, btw the raid is just too extreme. filled with angry mobs but good challenge la

I think they recommend the one that use the sword to be 31 at least for Crota part to have enough DPS
