Any1know any place that sells used mac or mac's parts?

Some shops at Lowyat sell used parts for Macs, and you can try on Lelong. Macs are pretty much a niche, and more so in Malaysia.

I always refer to ebay.

hmmm i saw some in lelong.com.my but they r selling the whole imac in rather little expensive price. I din c any in ebay. O which shop in LowYatt sells used mac parts??

Can't remember which shop at LYP. Level 2, somewhere at the back. Look around, ask around at those selling refurbished computers. And yes, don't bother looking at ebay malaysia.

But if you're looking for RAMs in particular, Cycom has them. Apple-certified RAMs from Kingston.

The Mac community is still small in Malaysia, and this makes it hard to look for parts, especially for vintage Macs.

o it's not the matter of ram, in fact, ram is easier to get. hmm i think i know which shop. actually i plan to go in to ask last week when i was there but then i saw them selling a used imac G3 ( if not mistaken it's 233mhz) strawberry for RM1100 ... o that really scared me away

mac use the same hdd as windows or they got their own type of hdd ?

U mean for which generation of mac? For both my imac G3 400mhz and 500mhz slot loader, it's using normal pata hdd. Some newer (and older 1) use superdrive or scsi drive if not mistaken.

Depending on what mac model you have, you can use a normal 'windows' hardisk or RAM. Yo don't need to but the expensive Apple hardisk or RAM.

I'm using a PowerBook G4 867MHz and am using a 512mb third party RAM and a 80GB notebook hardisk which I installed myself. What model i don't remember but it works fine.

One tip though, just bring your IBook/PowerBook along if you want to upgrade the RAM. Install it there and then, boot it up and see if your OS could detect it or not. Play around it for like 15mins or so. If it does crash, chances are you got a wrong RAM installed and try another.

Core2duo iMac, Powermac & Mac Pro: Yes

nope... the graphics card is part of the mainboard, so you can't upgrade it.

Since the first iMac in 2001, the graphics system wasn't upgradable... so sorry... it hasn't changed.

latest 24in iMac uses socket/slot base MXM graphics card, so theoritically it can be swaped if there's commercial card available.
