Problem details
Hello all

I have followed this guide to setup my router for Unifi but my router version is V4.27 (last working ver is V.4.23?)
http://klseet.com/index.php/tl-wr740n-ver4...-a-install-luci

I am able to flash the router without problems but was unable to install the Luci web GUI using PuTTY since it exceeded the storage limit

There is an offline method but an outsider like me don't even know where to start

In the confusion, I've flashed another custom firmware from openwrt for 741N but I don't know how to configure it work for Unifi

Finally I was able to revert everything and flashed back to the original firmware now, not knowing what to do

So basically, I don't know what to do with the router and my current Unifi router is getting worse by the time
L7-N-R2000 with inconsistent speed and sometimes even disconnects

KLSeet didn't update his page about WR740N.
The links in his page comes with the older version of OpenWRT that doesn't come pre-installed with LUCI GUI.

If you're back on stock TP-Link firmware, flash this file:
Barrier Breaker 14.07 Final For TP-Link TL-WR740N

The firmware in the link above has LUCI GUI pre-installed.

Thanks, I am saved thumbup.gif

But I did not manage to get my internet up and running on my router

I followed the steps in KL-Seet and also changed the network file accordingly

This ethernet switch option changes after I edited the network file

I tried to call TM to make sure my user password is correct but I waited for half an hour and no one picks up the phone

Call them again at 1300-88-1221 & ask for your UniFi PPPoE username & password.

Your username should be "######@unifi".
Your password should be a jibberish mix of letters & numbers.

PS: Why on earth did you buy the TL-WR740N anyway? You should've at least buy the TP-Link TL-WR1043ND. A lot easier to get it running on UniFi.

Change the Reconnect Mode to Always On.

Why not just call the helpline using the UniFi telephone? The helpline call will be free if you use that.

Your UniFi password looks like it has only 10 numbers/letters.
Mine has 13.

1. I was not sure if it is a router problem since the technician came when I was not around

They merely updated the router and did not mention a thing (so I assumed they don't want us to use their routers)

and the help & support department already informed me that they would charge me for a replacement

2. All TM provided routers performs terribly (except those dial-up modems they don't break), even a cheap cheap router is enough as an upgrade

3. I didn't think it was so hard to find tutorials and wares

I don't use HyppTV so I don't know
But the guide also cannot find ways to use vlan 600 so I doubt it supports it
