its about 300+ difference..
5s 64gb rm2299, ip6 16gb rm2215.. which to pic? ip6 64gb rm2550
*
Amazing, iphone 5S 64GB models are discontinued and no longer sold on machines and apple store online.

Starts at 2199 for 32GB 5S, 2399 for 16GB i6, 2749 for 64GB i6.

About RM550 difference, you pay 25% more of 5S price to jump from 5S to the decent storage of the latest iphone.

So it depends on your situation, how frustrated are you with your current phone, vs how much you're willing to wait and save up for the 6.

I've been monitoring and calculating statistics on the battery. Obsessed... 😅 Based on my usage and about 3 sample sizes for calculation I estimate the battery to be draining at a rate of an average of 8.8% per hour for the iphone 6.

So you can use this value to decide when to charge biggrin.gif

Fuh this is miracle

More than 5 hours standby, my iPhone 6 battery percentage still not moving from 100%
*
Ya lah, only 19 minutes of usage of course la can tahan biggrin.gif You hardly touch the phone and disabled notification of course la can.You want pure standby? Disable 3G, uninstall whatsapp and never use the internet on the phone. Disable GPS. Bring down the operational function of the phone to nokia 3310 level only.

See how long can your battery last this way nod.gif

In other news.. I had real hands on the 6+ today. Since I'm used to the 6's animation when quitting screen, I can catch the dropped frames when transitioning back to the home screen. It's not as smooth as the iphone 6 alright, but also not slower in any way, hence the dropped frames. I'm a gamer so I can notice difference between 30fps and 20 fps.

It's nothing to condemn the 6+, but it's there. It's like the 6+ animation is like sliding on jelly, but the 6 ..... is sliding on butter.

dont think its the GPU or CPU that gives isssues with the IP6+ transition speed, i think its more to software, have to wait for Apple to come up with a fix for this.
*
That's certainly a possibility. There's another possibility in that the A8 processor can't run it at the same framerate as the 6.

Think about it, the same processor needs to work harder to push images to a 1080x1920 pixels vs 750x1334 screen. Of course the smaller screen would have performance left to spare.

For the sake of your battery's life, don't drain the battery until it's about to die. Doing this often enough will shorten your battery's lifetime.

At most, start charging from 20% onwards.

If you want to really take care of your battery, can even start charging from 50% . That is the best care for your lithium ion battery.

This is what I found from reading battery care tips from various places.

In essence, yes. The phone will work harder to obtain a signal thus impacting battery life somewhat.
*
Definitely.

When signal's low your signal strength will be about the same level as background radio frequency, much harder for coherent signal.

Imagine you're in a noisy restaurant so you have to talk louder to each other. Phone=you. Cellular base station =your friend. More energy spent to talk = more battery used on phone.

I have my battery performance statistics saved pre 8.1.1. Been monitoring battery performance almost every day since a couple of days ago.

I updated to 8.1.1 today and am stoked to see how it performs.

71% battery charge left @ 5 hour mark on iOS 8.1.1. I consider this my normal daily usage (I have very active whatsapp groups, plug my phone in charger while I drive >37KM to work using Waze).

Compare this with 68% and 73% with similar method of measurement (and usage level) from before I upgraded, so far it seems about the same.

I start a timer for 5 hours right after I unplug my phone from the charger this morning and take reading when timer finishes.

I'm wondering how much battery the timer consumed, hehe....
*
Well I use iOS timer built in timer. If there's such a thing as power efficient timers, it's definitely done by apple itself.

QUOTE(lazybump_nonsense @ Nov 19 2014, 02:46 PM)
oh means not "usage time" in your setting shows 5 hours?
*

Yeah. Because I can't be staring at the battery usage timer all the time.

Should be. Key word being "should".

How long do you 6+ owners find their battery take to charge from 20% to 100% ?

I measured my 6 to be about 1 hour 45 mins.

The article doesn't seem to be very thorough. It's really sensationalized and just written that way to get lots of hits on its ad filled website.

Most of the content mention wifi issue on 4S and long support pages for the apple support forum.

I don't face any bug on my 6. The major issue was whatsapp crashing and that has already stopped with the new whatsapp update.

Installing third party apps may open up your devices to malware, I'd be more careful.

If your phone has no issue, then just ignore that tlc mlc crap. Worrying for no reason, except for sake of worrying and chasing ghosts.

Try and claim at any official apple reseller in malaysia. They SHOULD entertain your request since their shop is mentioned in apple's website, under premium resellers.

I get why we put cases on the iphone , so we sacrifice a little time molesting the naked chassis of the phone during our day to day use.

I do draw the line however, at sacrificing usability and even going so far as to enable an ugly accessibility button that obscures our view of the graphical user interface just so we don't "wear down" the phone's home button too much. Who's the master here? The phone, or us as the consumer?

Using i6. I noticed a bigger data drain, but my new work condition does indicate I need more data use since I just changed my job.

I bought etcware tempered glass for my iphone for RM79 from mac city. RM 79! Strangely bout 2-3 weeks later there is a mysterious dent at the edge of the tempered glass, which after inspection, turns out to be a small, small break at the side of the glass. I don't recall dropping it or whatever.

Then I accidentally dropped my phone once from chair sitting position and there's now a long , fine break line across the tempered glass, originating from the point of that small break. (other than that, phone's fine though, yay for Thule Atmos X3 casing!).

What's funny is how did that break that compromised structure of the tempered glass happen in the first place?
