Roughly how long can your battery last with how long usage?
I know iPhone 6+ has much longer battery life but I cannot convince myself to get a phone >RM 3k (64GB)...
I hope I won't regret of buying iPhone 6, instead of 6+...

Guys, especially those using iPhone 6. How's the battery life? I'm not really a heavy user but my WeChat, WhatsApp and Facebook must be left running in background. Besides, I also surf net and stream some short Facebook or YouTube videos.

QUOTE(dreamthief @ Nov 17 2014, 03:31 PM) 6+ is too thin, but with a case, it fits perfectly. But without case, if you are not careless type, it's okay. But pretty subjective for everyone. I would say you will regret not getting 6+ after exposed with bigger size phones. It's always typically people with a lot of calls usage and never used a bigger size phone will hold back going to 6+. QUOTE(weretiger @ Nov 17 2014, 03:31 PM) 1. i wont mind having a 3k++ phone as long as it last me for at least 3-5 years. Thanks for the comments guys... I do change phone like every year. 2. i wont mind having a big screen phone depending what i like, games + manga + comic + books.... 3. you need 2 hands even you on ip6... because it just not good in your hand, except you got a case that fit nicely in your palm. I tried with only normal browsing, whatsapp, social networking...... i got 11 hours of usage, standby time 1 day 16hours. i am using ip6+ Let me reconsider again. I haven't bought mine but so far tried both models in Machines, somehow my heart leans to iPhone 6. Anyway, I might buy an iPhone 6+ eventually. |

QUOTE(vostro78 @ Nov 17 2014, 03:47 PM) base on ur previous gadget. 6+ is ur choice... well, of cos you got choice ( 6+ 64gb / 128GB if you need travel a lot better take 6+ as it can last u a day . 3k for me is expensive as well, but i will sign celcom contract. at least not so hurt. Talking about those telco plans, I heard Maxis still doesn't release stocks to its customers. How about other telcos? If OK, I also don't mind taking up a contract. QUOTE(chchan_89 @ Nov 17 2014, 03:50 PM) i would say iphone6 is sufficient got ur usage which are similiar as the way i use my phone daily. it can last me one day from 8am till 9pm. How many hours usage as in your eyes sticking to the screen? however the batt will drain faster if gps is running. btw my illumination us set to 60% and most if the unused apps i set to off background refresh. just my opinion Mine is around 1 hour during working time and spend more after work. QUOTE(kamikraze @ Nov 17 2014, 03:50 PM) for me, iphone 6 battery is getting better and better from day to day.. since I'm too from Android, Note 2 to Mi3 to Ip6.. I guess it's a fair move.. Got it, thanks for the advice. still getting use to the size.. and the thickness.. for me I will recommend u to get ip6 than ip6+.. |

QUOTE(666devil @ Nov 17 2014, 03:57 PM) As for me, ip6+ is the way to go, especially I am coming from Android. those using ip all this while will have culture shock if switch to 6+. For current android users, 6+ size will be right at home. I have been using whole weekend without charging. 6+ battery goes on like an ipad. really impressive. also consider the features only a 6+ has, Full HD, OIS hardware(takes better pic in low light), nearly double battery capacity compared to 6. add rm400 more, u wont regret. Rather than buy 6, then whole year heart itching whether u should have gone with the top range. also consider the landscape extra features that it has(including landscape keyboard and extra rows), and ip6 don't. QUOTE(KaiHD @ Nov 17 2014, 03:58 PM) i originally got a 6. it was good, but then i switched to 6 plus- although it's a tiny bit too big, i love it. battery life is amazing. and i love the pics I take. OIS does help, and it's noticeable to me. I hate you guys. besides if you get 6 plus, and you don't like it, there will always be someone wanting to buy it from you, since 6 plus is very rare now. I heard OIS is really good, though I have not tested this yet but looking at your reviews, seems like worth the investment. |

QUOTE(Eithanius @ Nov 17 2014, 04:20 PM) Auntie fruitie... Sadly speaking, after so many years, I haven't upgraded my status to auntie yet. Screenshot below - iPhone 6, slightly over 1/4 batt usage after unplugging midnite, moderate browsing, moderate whatsapp, music for over an hour, light games... [attachmentid=4220477] You might need to adjust a bit going to smaller screen though if you take iPhone 6... Anyway, thanks for the feedback. Battery life seems good, at least I feel better than my current Note 3. |

QUOTE(attw @ Nov 17 2014, 04:26 PM) My sentiments exactly on the Note 3 battery life... Previously I managed 4 hours of Screen On Time at least, and managed to even get 5 hours once. Now I'll be happy to hit 3 And I thought I was alone! However, I have let go those days which I kept tweaking my Note II to make it better and etc. Nowadays I just want a phone to use and let me do whatever I want. But based on all I've read I'm still leaning more toward iPhone 6 Plus rather than 6. Just that it's really expensive and I don't wanna regret it, so maybe wait for Apple to fix all the bugs while it is still unavailable, haha Well, my secondary phone is the Huawei Honor 3c, I use it for my company corporate line. A single charge lasts me 10 days. Yes, 10 days. Though it is not an active phone, occasionally calls come in, I make calls, WhatsApp and SMS-es. Data is turned on 24/7 but same usage on my Note II only lasted 2-3 days max. This Huawei phone lasts for 10 days despite 2300mAh only. |

Should be receiving on Wednesday but that makes up to 3 working days. 1 working day??? Sat Sun consider non working day for apple ok? QUOTE(666devil @ Nov 17 2014, 04:32 PM) tell me about it. don't hate me. speaking the truth only. OK... Thanks for keep poisoning me with the OIS. Tried taking photo in dim cinema before big hero 6 started. Damn it was impressive with hardware OIS. sorry cannot share here as its family photo QUOTE(vostro78 @ Nov 17 2014, 04:33 PM) which temper glass has the best fit for ip6+ that can cover even the side curve area ? early batch all leave some gap at the curve area. I think Nillkin comes out with a newer type of tempered glass SP for iPhone 6 and 6+. CP+ series, you can check out Garage Sales, I think it may fulfill your requirement. |

QUOTE(vostro78 @ Nov 17 2014, 04:36 PM) a smart phone that can last for 10 days My last charge that I screenshot last weekend.![]() I didn't know the battery is so good, main reason I bought it is because it has dual SIM suits for my usage when I travel to overseas. Some more it is only RM 499, new. OK, sorry to off-topic. This post has been edited by fruitie: Nov 17 2014, 04:41 PM |

QUOTE(hsyong @ Nov 17 2014, 04:54 PM) Now my iPhone 6 battery is at 53% (mostly on 3G) Very nice. Usage: 5 Hours 5 Minutes Standby: 1 Day, 3 Hours Moderate use (Facebook, WeChat, LINE, Whatsapp, browsing and other tasks) With the same usage pattern, I typically get about 3.5 hours usage at 50% battery. Not too bad actually. |

QUOTE(hsyong @ Nov 17 2014, 05:00 PM) Oops, this "With the same usage pattern, I typically get about 3.5 hours usage at 50% battery." on my previous post refers to my iPhone 5. Sorry what does it mean by Background App Refresh OFF? Will I still receive those messages from instant messaging apps when my phone is idle? Yup, as long it's better than my iPhone 5, I'm happy with it Other info for my iPhone 6: Background App Refresh OFF Location Services ON So, for my iPhone 6, about 5 hours usage at 50% battery. My only iOS device is the iPad Mini Retina LTE which I don't bother about the battery usage. |

QUOTE(hsyong @ Nov 17 2014, 05:08 PM) "Background App Refresh" is to enable apps to refresh/update contents when it is in the background (not in use). Alright, understood. Thanks for the guide. It's not related to notifications... if your Notifications setting is ON, you'll receive all your notifications (even if your messaging apps are not loaded). QUOTE(Reventon @ Nov 17 2014, 05:48 PM) Hey fruity, thought you are jumping to note4, if you are considering iphone and battery life is priority then 6+ is no brainer as you are used to big size phone. No more Note series. If too thin and grip is a problem. Snap a casing should make it better. Anyway you are used to note3 screen, anything smaller is not really nice what Money matters. |

QUOTE(Reventon @ Nov 17 2014, 06:05 PM) LOL money matters and you are looking at more premium phone At first I thought 6 64GB ma, who knows now heart itchy for 6+ but more than 3k. No need consider lah, 6plus the right way. Light usage maybe can last you 11 days I will need to look into telco plans then... QUOTE(biatch0 @ Nov 17 2014, 06:35 PM) Wow... wtf... I was thinking about getting a dual SIM phone for the same uses as you and was looking at the Xiaomi Note or Asus Zenphone... Now no choice but to look at this magic Huawei 3c If your usage is exactly like mine, get this phone as secondary phone. No regret and you won't bother thinking to charge it all the time. QUOTE(666devil @ Nov 17 2014, 06:57 PM) See? So many ask u get 6+. Since u coming from I will need to seriously consider it. I'm using Spigen Neo Hybrid on my Note 3. Note series, it's a no brainier decision. Just get a thin grip casing like spigen neo hybrid and tie a short lanyard to ur hand through the casing will give u nice 1 hand operation. Trust me la. I am from s4. Using i6+ a week now. No regrets with all the advantages. |

QUOTE(meredere @ Nov 17 2014, 09:43 PM) Yeah, 6 no issue but 6+ seems have started to delay...QUOTE(666devil @ Nov 17 2014, 09:46 PM) Remember saturday not considered working day. So fruitie might break all record if receive tomorrow. I will not... Just tracked on UPS site, ETA only on Thursday... QUOTE(rathian_mhfu @ Nov 17 2014, 09:48 PM) Unfortunately no with UPS... QUOTE(biatch0 @ Nov 17 2014, 10:24 PM) Yeah looking into it now... I've been eyeing either the Xiaomi 1s/Note, Asus Zenphone... but now added the Honor 3c to the mix. I think the Zenphone is the cheapest among the lot. I usually dump my work SIM and Maxis SIM into the secondary phone when travelling and get a local data SIM for my main device... think that's pretty similar to what you described. Thanks for putting up that Android screenshot in the iPhone thread It's OK, sharing is caring. I only use dual SIM when I travel to overseas. In my previous trip, local SIM was slotted in the first slot and my corporate Celcom SIM was switched to secondary SIM with data switched off just to receive calls. I noticed the battery drains slightly faster when both slots are used up. Well, that time the local SIM was mainly used as hotspot to share out my connection for my other devices.
