I hate this thread, looks like I will get the 6+ 64GB. shakehead.gif Will purchase next month using my Maybank Treatpoints, after exhausting my points I will pay for 2749 for 64GB. I will utilize the weekend AmEx rebate as well, that means will pay around 2700. thumbup.gif

hello guys was wondering if buy from machines can they cut my sim card to nano or cannot ?
*
No, machines will advice you against cutting SIM card... Just go to your telco, ask them to get you a new nano SIM for a small fee... Some old SIM, the chip is even larger than the nano size itself, by cutting it just invite trouble only...

Reminded me of one foreigner bought iPhone and couldn't use her SIM from her home country telco, one local telco dealer went too smart and forcefully cut her SIM card until cannot use, she had no way to communicate using her phone... Poor lady...

So was trying to be productive today... and thought it would be a great time to use the fancy new productivity tools (like Numbers/Pages/Keynote) and resolution of the 6+ for this purpose...

WTF sleep.gif

Had to take out laptop in the end... Anyone else having this problem?
*
Yes... some of the Apple resellers demo units do go haywire like this...

Check if there are any updates... Restart phone... Else reformat... tongue.gif

I used a similar product called wondershare mobiletrans and it transferred everything over from my old iPhone to the 6. Problem is the numbers were not fully captured so instead of the number being +60123456789 (for eg.) it became 12 345 6789. This caused a major problem as I couldn't send out regular text messages or call from within the messages app (by going to details and then clicking on the number) as it would be incomplete. Even though the number seemed complete in the details area, I tried deleting the contact's number and re entering it. It still used the incomplete number. So I'm not sure if most of this softwares which promise to restore the backups of sms and texts actually can fulfil without this dumb mistakes. I've had to delete everything and restart again from the beginning without the info I wanted initially.

Ps. I'm not using the trial version. It's a fully paid version no cracks/hacked versions either.

Why do you need MobileTrans when you can use iTunes between iPhones...? MobileTrans only comes into play for transferring info between phones of different OSes...

iOS is no more smooth. It will lag sometimes.

Android is smoother now. (4.3 and above)😄

I don't understand why people always thought iOS is superior and stable but in actual fact it's otherwise now!
*
Android aside, it's the same shit on the Mac side as to why Snow Leopard is silky smooth but Yosemite lags and suck big time... Apple is on the decline...

The way I look at it is if you buy a Malaysian iPhone, and travel to a first world country (EU/US)... chances are you will have no problem sending your iPhone for warranty... maybe not 1-to-1 but at least you can get it repaired while overseas.

If I'm travelling to a developing country, I won't hold my hopes up.

End of the day, when I'm not in KL, I'm in the EU... and Apple EU honors my warranty no questions asked (and in fact by default have to honor it for 2 years thanks to consumer protection laws)... More than good enough for me smile.gif

(Sorry for all the first world country people coming to Malaysia hahaha)
*
For you it's a non-issue buying iPhones over here and having them warrantied by Apple Store in the US/EU since you're frequent traveler. However for those who don't travel often, and those thinking of buying foreign/AP sets and have them warrantied here, the term International Warranty is a bit misleading to say the least...

When I asked my wife when was the last time she charged her iPhone, she said it was the day before yesterday. Disbelief, I grab her iPhone and check the usage record. It's been on a single charge for more than two and a half day! Hers is iPhone 6...not the iPhone 6 Plus!
*
It's doable... coz Usage Time stated only 8 hours...

Give her a Plus, she'll probably can do 3 days without charge...

Hi guys, would like to check how to confirm the Iphone 6 is Malaysia set??

Saw there is plenty of seller in lelong.my claiming that their Iphone is Malaysia Set and got warranty from Malaysia.

Would like to buy 64GB Gold as anniversary gift ...

Thanks in advance smile.gif

1. It should come with a sticker stating Apple Malaysia Service Card sticking outside the shrink-wrap. On it contains the Apple Malaysia hotline, a smaller SKMM sub-sticker, model and IMEI of the iPhone, which must match the description behind the iPhone box...

IMPORTANT: When you buy any Apple hardware, it comes with it. Please do not throw this away with the shirnk-wrap when you unbox it. Remove the sticker and stick it anywhere inside the box or documentation for service authentication just in case Apple ask for it.

2. Part number, for instance MG4A2MY/A... the bolded part indicates regional identifier... MY = Malaysia...

PS: For item number 1, it would be a problem if it's a telco unit. I doubt they come with those stickers...

This may be the reason there are wifi connectivity issues some people are complaining about.

*
I have not encountered wifi issues on either iOS 8 or Yoshittingme - I mean, Yosemite... Not sure if the article actually implies using both iOS and OS X simultaneously, an only scenario that cause this issue.

Either this or my hardware is just too old for Yoshittingme to affect my WiFi. Heck most of the time I'm on Snow Leopard...

Hmm.. most of the social chat that require internet connection, like whatsapp, telegram, instagram, hangout, etc.. was delay..
the chat didn't appear/load when I open the apps.. loading, connecting status each time.. no idea why but the notification appear instant on my pebble..
else, wifi/3g connection keep switching, making any stream/coc experience disturbed each time the connection switch..

I assumed thats how IOS work, as I didn't alter any setting nor jailbreaking..
*
Weird that I have no such problem... hmm.gif

666devil did highlight Background App Refresh should be enabled for these apps...

And have you tried restoring your iPhone...?

I guess so.. but as I remember I didn't disable background app refresh for those app.. or maybe I did.. well how come notification can work without background app refresh?
*
Notification is just notification, some contents are not part of notifications, for example Facebook, unless you want to be notified for every single piece of news that crops up your News Feed... Background app refresh is more for content update in the background, that is if you don't want to wait for it to refresh ONLY when your app is active, hence Background...

They are totally separate functions...
