iOS is no more smooth. It will lag sometimes.
Android is smoother now. (4.3 and above)😄
I don't understand why people always thought iOS is superior and stable but in actual fact it's otherwise now!
Only real die hard Apple fanboys will continue to claim that iOS is still the more superior and stable system over Android. They have either been living under a coconut shell for the past few years or their only experience with Android was with a 512MB or 1GB RAM Samsung previously.
Android has grown in leaps and bounds, like you said, hardly any lagging after 4.3 (provided you get a phone with the hardware to match all the bloatware and custom UI of the manufacturer - I'm looking at you again, Samsung). The only reason I want to move back from Android to iOS now would be because I invested quite a bit in the ecosystem, and I appreciate how simple it worked (or used to before iOS 8).
End of the day, it's about getting the one that works for you. I'm pretty sure Apple will eventually iron out the flaws in iOS 8 and iPhone 6 and 6 plus. But fore now, the criticism they are getting is pretty valid - though sometimes exaggerated.
