Hi... anyone can help me here?

Just bought a Hotlink starter pack yesterday and was in a hurry, so I did not give my IC & details for registration... I thought I could use it immediately without registration... Tried dialling 122 but message came was my sim card was not registered...

I remembered that I bought a prepaid starter pack from the same shop in May this year, and I was able to use it without registration at all...

So now couldn't use prepaid without registering is it? Anyone here know how to register simcard? Kinda difficult for me to go back to the shop or Maxis centre as it is quite far...

call 123 to ask, or go to the nearest Maxis center.

Try to see which one of these Maxis Centres r closest to u using this link:
http://www.maxis.com.my/en/personal/suppor...et-listing.html

Also, after you register di, you shld activate ur prepaid number ASAP.
Cuz last time rite, my sister din activate her Hotlink number within a week & then she had to go back to the centre again for the staff to manually activate..

Don't let this happen to u man..

Thanks for the advice... I was able to find time and went to a Maxis centre to activate it.. Problem solved! wink.gif

Just wanted to ask though... I understand there is a 50 day de-active period for this prepaid SIM card...

So let's say my prepaid expired today (12 Nov), meaning I won't be able to make calls or send SMS for 50 days (until 31 Dec), but able to receive them right? After that, if no reload, number will be deregistered, correct?

So let's say I reload RM5 on the 30 Dec, so my number will be active again for 5 days i.e. until 4 Jan. After that, if I didn't reload it again, the de-active period will be calculated from last active date right which is on 4 Jan? So I will have grace period until around 22 Feb to reload before my number will be deregistered.

Am I right?

Yup correct smile.gif
During the 50 days grace period, you can receive call and SMS but cannot make call and SMS
U must reload before the 50 days grace period end

Careful some small shop I want to buy they ask me for my IC yo register but they wanted to write down on a book. He said its for record purposes.

Sometimes they write down your details they can use to register new number without your knowledge then they sell higher price to random stranger.

Then some of them can use for crime and etc but when they check it's linked to you not them
