how ensure the quality of the replacemant part?? it brand new or just repaired version frm other new almera cars which faced the motor problem?? how the warranty works??
Hi Bro,
I can only tell you from my experience, others might differ.
I realized there was a problem with the motor fan when one day I offed the engine, but the motor fan was still running for some time.
After a few days, it became more and more obvious. It became more and more noisy whenever I on the air cond. But I felt it only during slow speed.
At higher speed I don't feel the vibration. At standstill you can hear the fan rotating violently, but good thing is its still working.
In fact I drove with defect motor fan for at least another 600km before getting it changed. I don't recommend you do the same.
So what do you do when it happens? Don't panic. Make sure the problem is your motor fan first.
Call your nearest SC and make the nearest available appointment, and provided the SC has stock available. Some SC need 1 week to order and for the stock to arrive.
If it's within 3 years of your warranty period, it's free. However I asked, the cost of a motor fan is around rm700.
I did asked the SC whether they changed vendor and they said yes, however I am not sure whether for the face-lift version they have already changed it. Mine is pre face-lift
When will it happen? Nobody knows. Mine happened at 60k mileage. Some earlier, some later. But if it was meant to happen, better if during the warranty period.
Of course there was some regrets in buying Almera but hey, there are always service centres to help.
And don't get me started over bearing problems.. Let's keep that for another day. Mine yet to happen, but I am keeping an open and positive mind.
Cheers.
