Yeh..if it involves major parts...just do it at SC if the difference is only a little...we all know if anything go wrong ah beng will not be responsible!

its normal bro. my car not even 2 years already got aircon issue, then again got the fan issue (within a week after repair the aircon).

- Wheel bearing faulty
- Wheel bearing faulty, AGAIN!
- Radiator fan motor faulty
- AC cooling coil leak
- AC hot/cold air servo motor faulty
- AC blower motor faulty
- Steering bubbles/crack
- Drive shaft cover crack
- Absorber boot crack
- Absorber faulty
- Audio head unit fan faulty
- Serpentine belt premature wear and tear (around 30K km)
- Serpentine belt premature wear and tear, AGAIN!
- Exhaust tip fall off/rattling
- Exhaust tip fall off/rattling, AGAIN!!
- Exhaust tip fall off/rattling, AGAIN and AGAIN!!!

This is normal? 4 years car only. Total cost of service/repair over RM12,000.00!!!!     

If the gear shifted to lower gear, you will get a corresponding pick up effect.

However, if you didn't notice any pick up, or increase in acceleration, then your torque converter might be slipping.

Notice some Grand Livina user kena this when I go to SC (from the conversation between the SA and the tech), but I may heard wrongly.

But it just look like buying extra insurance for warranty. Still hv to pay for regular service

Well im still thinking should i keep this car. Cause the SC that i like its far from where i stay. But its still reachable.

Agree, outside workshop almost same price as SC.
Jus done 120000km , 736 after gst, air filter, engine oil, oil filter, gear oil.

Not sure how long you have need driving. At start it take time to find good workshop

The one I visit most of the time ask me what to do unless something broken and price are being quote first before anything

But we as driver also need to monitor the job so they will be more alert.

These SC nowadays very smart ah beng already...they will call the service center and ask the price first..then charge RM100 or lesser than the SC price...
But actual price will be way cheaper...

Right after warranty over, I service my car outside. But because I am a bit paranoid, so I am fine, because I will instruct the mechanic what to do right down to the last detail 

Luckily I have a mechanic that can work with me 

I will buy my parts from supplier and bring it over to my mech. And if my mechanic found any problem, he will let me know, and I will go and buy more parts for him to replace. I only pay him labour charges. Even the engine oil and filter I bought from outside.

So far, apart from wasting a bit of time go here and there, saves quite a bit of money compared to TC.

Example. Tan Chong charges me about RM3xx for lube and brake servicing (replace brake fluid only), which I can do outside for lube + brake fluid replace + actual brake pad replacing!

Just to clarify does the extended warranty covers cooling coils, wheel bearings & motor fan?i think the coverage is not the same as the initial 3yrs warranty .....many tricky remarks **

Mine lasted for 2.5 years...lucky me...hahahahaha

almera has 3 main problems which nissan didn't held recall
- cooling coil
- radiator fan motor
- wheel bearing

what you can do is drive frequent, let the parts operate during warranty period. and then claim from nissan sc.
other than these, the car works fine.

My cooling coil kaput. One of the less fortunate.

3.5 years later (no more warranty).

Total damage RM 2968 (including GST).

- Airmix motor

do you service your acon at Nissan SC as per their warranty book spec requirement ?

Hi guys, i found this Nissan Tan Chong Almera service price before GST vs current price

TC increased the spare price price from 4% – 8%; while  labour charges have increased 8%! (Exclusive GST 6%)      

Then together with GST 6%, increased    6%  to maximum 15%.

after 3 years of GST, no inflation, salary no need increase?

Seriously, everything increases after GST. Every step in the buying selling process will be charged GST... if it passes through 5 ppl, there will be a snowball of cost... end of the day increase is normal. Like Elmond said... after 3 years, inflation, salary, running cost all these things don't go down. To be honest this comparison is more like to note the impact of GST implementation by GOVERMENT
You have a choice to service your car at a workshop outside that charge u a flat rate inclusive of GST if you think SC prices are not reasonable. As sometimes, some of the recommended Service items are not essential.
So true to that. Sadly Gov no make enuf money from petroleum, so make money form GST.

Hmm, maybe this time you have to try go change a diff NTN bearings, perhaps either made locally or find those made in Japan. My bearings still good. I'm not sure if the installer skills are essential too. Maybe the workshop have experience with the quality of OEM vs Ori Nissan

On the side note, after taking my time to warm up my car till the rev rest at 1000rpm. Benefits i found was, the gearbox was much more silent/responsive, the car shudders less at D. New thing is After warmup Neutral=850rpm, D = 800rpm. No warm up N=1000rpm, D = 800rpm

I thought car warm up is no longer needed for modern engine? That's what I read from the net..

My warranty is finishing next month, wonder if I should extend the warranty to 5 or 7 years lol

Anyone took the extended warranty program ?i got offer from TC if renew now rm 1k for 2yrs get free engine treatment & throtle cleaner (both maybe worth rm100)
the waranty coverage for this extended 2 yrs is same as initial 3yrs manufacture warranty .the other package is 4 yrs but the last 2 yrs only cover engine n gear box .
am considering to take extend 2yrs  but not now maybe next year when my 3yrs warranty expire .Reason is :Bearing /motor fan /aircon comp....any advise guys
