I m planning to let go of almera anti roll bar. Anyone interested?

Mine is e spec. add fog lamp, full soundproof, add front strut bar & anti roll bar, change headlight bulb to led type.

About sp, depend where u do it. I bought sp material n let accessories shop install it, whole car around rm2k kao tim. imo, it just improve around 20-30% of cabin quiet, but audio quality improve a lot, the thump thump bass sound more clear n full. If u just want a more quiet ride, i suggest u may just do 4 door soundproof + rubber seal at doors & change to quiet tyre, this is the best bang for bucks.

If I'm not wrong I bought a Bosch horn. Forgot bout the model. The guys at the accesories shop will install for u.

I service my car at TCEAS. Warranty is only 3 years or 100k km, whichever comes first.

I reach 100k km at around 2 years plus, and right after that comes all the major repair   

Even the service alone during warranty period is expensive.

By the time I reach 100k km (first 3 service is free, 1K, 5K and 10K) I already spend close to 7K on service and maintenance (including rm950 for tyre replacement).

From 100k km to now, at 160k km, have spend another 6K (of which, rm900 is for tyre replacement).

Right after 100k km, most of my service is done outside, but using Nissan 0w-20 oil and oil filter (bought at spare part shop). I just saved on the workmanship fee, taxes and time (outside workshop can service the car at most 1 hours plus when TCEAS needs at least half day).

Other replacement parts, like brake pad, etc i bought whichever is suitably good and done outside too. These saves a lot compared to TCEAS.

So the big item after 100k km for me is the aircond fixing, which cost a total of RM1600! 

What sound? Maybe its the wheel bearing if it was constant n faster. Maybe aircond/radiator fan if the sound on n off

Yes. I remember that clearly as well! Felt like it was yesterday nia. Nothing much done to my car as now mainly use as beli sayur car. Only install a potent booster from Sh@rty 5 and install a so-called oil cooler. The potent booster kinda makes the downshifting much more responsive and the mechanic told me the atf oil wont get overheat easily and so far only used 2 sets of tires so far. stock cc5, Michelin XM2, and Hankook Ventus v12 evo2. I'm same as you. Much more interested in improving handling.

Hi guys, what type of engine oil u all use for your almera after warranty period? Is it worth trying cheaper shell helix hx5 sn15w40?

3 years.. from what i read higher viscosity offer better protection at high temperature right? The 0w20 seem a bit too thin?

Since HM said no need to help with the monthly installment of the new car, so got spare cash to spend on the beli sayur car lo. Thinking bout suspension n brakes too! Any suggestions a? Where are u frm bro?

Because they said Almera has 7 years warranty and it was around my budget. Lets forget about Toyota and Honda because this both is out of what I can afford.

Almera memang sluggish & underpower. Esp @ low revs, the power kicks in @ higher revs, probably due to the smaller final gear ratio & ECU? (all other cars, eg.Vios, myvi with 4AT has bigger final gear ratio ,despite all 4 gears having similar ratio) I remember driving my 1.3myvi up genting, it needn't drop to 1St gear, whereas almera needs to drop to 1St gear & it's a 1.5.car.body weight diff only about 70kgs apart. The other thing I figured was probably the smaller tyre fitted onto myvi 175/60/14,providing higher revs& therefore more responsive & powerful hill climb. I've also driven the vios (dugong version) & pickup feels more responsive too (stock tyre 185/60/15).Almera is designed for comfort ride only & therefore I think they missed out on the power & response needed for constant hill climbing. That's why I was figuring if there's a way to up the pickup power by downsizing the tyres to 185/60/15,giving higher revs, though not remarkable difference. Factors of contribution to sluggishness -small final gear ratio, big diameter tyre&ECU? Benefits from all these, smooth & comfort ride, v. Good fuel consumption (if I drive constantly btwn 100-110,solo, it's about 20km/l - for a 4A/T)
