Magnum Youth In Action (MYIA) program is one of the Magnum CSR programs which aims to encourage Magnum Youth in participating CSR related activities. This year - 2014 marks the 4th consecutive year for MYIA, which comprises of members of Magnum's workforce, to collaborate with The Truly Loving Company (TLC) in cushion some of the impact from current rising costs of living by providing a fixed sum to charity organisations in helping them to cover their monthly grocery requirement for part of the year.

The two charity homes that MYIA team pledged to support and assist are:

Agathians Shelter ~~ Agathians Shelter was founded in 2003 and is located at Petaling Jaya. It is a non-governmental, self-supporting organization with 40 boys who are either orphans, abandoned or from broken family at the age ranges between 3-20 years old. Their mission is to provide a safe and comfortable shelter for these disadvantaged children, and their monthly overheads is around RM30,000.

Dignity & Services (D&S) ~~ The home was started in 1991. It is an advocacy movement speaking and acting on behalf of and alongside persons with learning disabilities. D&S aims to be an independent voice to ensure that persons with learning disabilities are offered the basic human right of being treated as full human beings and enjoy dignity and respect, equal rights and opportunities to lead an independent and meaningful life within the community. D&S currently is supporting 19 members who are mostly young adults aged 18 to early 20s. They come together on weekend to be taught on baking & cooking skills or even some other basic soft skills.

For this campaign, Magnum Cares is organizing Zumba Fitness Party for Charity on 29th November at Megastar Arenafor public to take part. The Zumba dance will be led by two Zumba Jammers or ZJ, our own talented ZJ, Deno Au, and Gerald Tay from Singapore and assisted by 7 leading ZIN instructor; Alex Phang and Sunny Cheong from KL, Rina from Penang, Janice from Ipoh, Peggy and Justine from Johor and Lina from Kuching.

All proceeds from the event will be channelled to both Agathians Shelter and Dignity & Services. Ticket priced at RM50 for adult and RM35 for children age 12 and below. Ticket registration can be made by email to zumba4charity@magnum.my or call 03-20786233.
