just bought the game and installed the game recently..i have alot of question...

1) i have two icon one the desktop, 1st the "battlefield 2" and 2nd "battlefield 2 online" . any different or they just same?

2) how to check my ranking?

3) how to get promoted? play online? if yes by joining any server will i get promoted ? or specify server only?

4) in the half way of game if i get disconnected , will i lost my experince?

5) how to unlock weapon?

6) do i have to set the prot forwarding? if yes, what's the ip?

1)Click Battlefield 2.Dont click the Battlefield 2 online..it will stall your game.

2)You can go to BF2tracker.com or BF2s.com to check ur stats

3)You'll get promoted when you reach certain point.You need to play in the rank server to get points.You get none on unranked servers.

4)Half way in the game..you'll lost ur current point in the game.(maybe)

5)When you get promoted,you'll receive unlocks.There is certain unlocks that required you to buy a special force add-on.

6)This one i'm not sure...anybody..can you help on this

-then select your router or modem model...
-then select the application.. which is BF2..
-then follow the instructions given..

if you plan to play off-line, there's a way to unlock all the weapons - no cracks, no warez or whatsoever.

be warned: playing online with the weapon unlock will get you a perma-ban

however, it does give you the chance the try out the weapons 1st so u can decide which one you would really like to unlock for online playing

i'm glad someone reply it but how do i know i joined the ranking server or not???
and about GameArena servers , can i search it by using bf2 online or have to use something like gamespy???

Easy, to join GameaArena servers just type GameArena in the server name box (In BF2 itself, under Multiplayer tab and Internet ) and hit enter to search for them. Also try EASG (EA Singapore) or EATH (EA Thailand). Those servers have pretty decent ping. Servers which are ranked have the Sergeant "Pangkat" icon next to them

EDIT: Oh, also not to forget our very own GameZone server which is unranked though, but it features the new X-07 MapPack

wats the ip? i usually play in gamearena.. sometimes its lagging lar.. btw i just wanna try the unranked 1

I think defaeco is switching it to Point of Existence 2.
