Among all, the most favourite is my Star Tortoise named Ringo and Jem. They are the 2nd batch of ttt that i get. And they are very close to me compared to the others since they need a lot more attention.

First ttt that i got was my small ally snapper, from the day i bought him/her, hunter grow bigger day by day. Last time when i got hunter, there's few more rare turtles but i dont give a damn since i was only interested with the ally. Fell regretted but now im adding new ttt day by day hoping i can get a number of collection and later open a turtle farm. That was my dream all this while. After a few months later i bought my star tortoise followed by continous buying of ttt. laugh.gif

Other than that, i got a lot of new friends while enjoying this hobby. Thanks to all and i hope we all can fullfil our past time with this hobby not forgetting not to waste ur money too much. laugh.gif

speaking of money, to maintain them also not cheap...
for me, nowadays with 7 tortoises eating 2 times a day... my sawi really finishes quick. One week now have to spend around RM4 on sawi. When they are adult, I think have to spend more sweat.gif

Sooo, I can't imagine how much money u need to spend just to maintain em all

Btw, just uploaded this video (taken from phone)...

About their foods, its like rm15 weekly for vege such as Sawi, Long Beans, Eggplant, Waterchress,Pumpkin and french beans. I feed them once a day to avoid overgrow. Recommended for juvenile to adult turtles/tortoise is 3 times per week actually. Monthly around Rm100 i supposed including the bedding and pellets.

Some of them prefer to be not inside the water, so its recomended to put a place for them to be totally out from the water.

no la not the same. UV sterilizer are used for those with planted aquarium. used for eliminating algae in the water. cannot be used to replace uv lamp because the uv sterilizer supposed to be kept in cupboard. if placed out in the open can really damage your eyesight. dangerous cool.gif
if you want to buy a uv lamp and thinking on the budget side, im thinking of buying some parts and DIY my own this weekend. the bulb itself of course will buy reptiglo 5.0. RM40 - RM50 i think. once finished i will post some updates

I've just transferred my malayan box to his/her (dont know the sex) new home. a custom made 3 feet aquarium. I think its been one month now since i found it inside the longkang beside my house.

this is the first time i've seen it swimming, and immediately i noticed something peculiar.
whenever it swims, or stays immobile inside the water, its body seems to be slanted(senget) a bit to the right (macam berat sebelah). should this be of concern?

Mine, I feed once every two days coz I read somewhere that they grow faster if they eat more. I sort of double the amount I feed him so I guess it makes up for him not eating every day.

this turtle gheng... one year only... the turtle grow so much bigger

note: same cup
QUOTE(uzairi @ Sep 19 2006, 12:05 PM)
This is because the RES is given too much pellets. If u feed them with vege it wont grow that fast. Mind u if they grow that fast, they will die faster than a RES that grows normally.
*
RES normal growth would reach 4 inch SCL in 1 year

like uzairi said, pellets contain imbalance diet and its not good for TTT, feed them once in a while, too much protein causes overgrowth..
