hey, leslie.. i'm still breathing here lol.
yeah.. cute for the 1st 18 months. most of those american emydidae lose their charms as they grow with age, thus explains why so many RES ended up rupturing our ecosystem. luckily DBTs are valued in ks and don't do well in our waters, LOL This post has been edited by camillenoir: Oct 9 2007, 06:49 PM |

samperth has some of those lovely pancakes.
p/s: bro zeist, trust me, once you get hooked, rm500 is just (or maybe not) enough for monthly maintenance - food/filter media/electricity/vitamin/calcium/water tariff etc etc.. cost |

QUOTE(zeist @ Oct 10 2007, 08:44 PM) no no. what i meant was when you get serious in this hobby and have a vast collection of chelonians, you'd probably spent that amount or more monthly.p/s: LOL, since when did land tortoises require filter media? Wait, before you tembak me. The pond where I released the turtles, do you have any idea how many turtles are there? There are about 200+ turtles from various sizes, that is not some longkang or chapalang pond or whatever.p/s: LOL, since when did land tortoises require filter media? READ MY SIGGY!!! It is some recretional park built by the city council, a place for joggers and tourists, the pond is mainly for fishes and turtles... You think I will simply release those turtles at some longkang ah? |

the one near bukit jalil/vista commonwealth? prone to breakaway.
it's the same thing if you release them anywhere in this country... if everyone thinks it is ok to release just because everybody else did so, the problem will just get worse. the rule is simple; once you bought a non-native species, you're stuck with it for life. either put to adoption or keep. nevermind, not your fault if you don't know. it's those stupid wildlife/trade officer's fault for allowing the the import of tens of thousands of those RES hatchling annually here whereas the sales of those hatchlings is ILLEGAL in their native country. friend, that' why research is important p/s: hey, i haven't tembak you.. Nope. This pond is located somewhere in Klang, it's pretty big, size of a standard swimming pool.
Yes I know, if you did I'm already dead. |

QUOTE(ntlc87 @ Oct 13 2007, 04:08 PM) That you have to ask someone from the US department to explain on the presice on that Anything cheloinan ( turtle in paticular ) that are smaller than 4 inch are not allowed to be sold in the US unless for SCIENTIFIC OR EDUCTIONAL PURPOSES ( primary school science projects ....etc ) As most if not all RES are produced in the US and because of that 4 inch rule ( equate to about a year's worth of growth for RES to reach that size ) thus the bulk of their RES hatchlings' production are exported More on the 4 inch rule This post has been edited by SAMPERTH: Oct 15 2007, 02:09 PM |
