Nothing to do with the loader. It might be your HDD or HDD cable.

"Disk read error" = faulty HDD.

"Disk boot error" = HDD boot sequent is wrong.

Hi syahmie, good day to you. As far as the error message appeared, I would go ahead and check the hard drive thoroughly starting from the cabling itself. Ensure that the hard drive is being seated firmly without any loose cable or casing. Next, I would suggest disconnecting the hard drive from your machine and try booting from the Windows CD or DVD itself. This would help to narrow down the possible bad sector in a clearer way.

On top of that, you might want to check the state of the hard drive by running the diagnosis test on it according to the manufacturer brand. If you're using an WD hard drive, go ahead and run the Data Lifeguard Diagnostics test on it. Here is the link for you:

http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/940/

Alternately, you may also refer to the below link if there is no any specific hard drive test provided by the manufacturer:

http://hddscan.com/

On top of that, if the hard drive fails the test, you may want to proceed to send the hard drive for RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) according to the manufacturer's brand provided it is still under warranty. Also, make sure you do the necessary backup of all your important data before doing the RMA.

Hope it helps.

i believe it could be different issues though.

some possible answers to what you are facing.

1) Faulty SSD
2) OS Corruption (unlikely)
3) Boot files
4) Faulty HDD

Disk Read error is 100% an indication your hard disk is failing. U need another computer to backup or recover data from the current hard disk.

Solved!

it not beacause of bad hard disk/ssd. it is totally of boot loader. luckily find solution on german forum and luckily i study in germany before.

Is Windows failing to boot after you installed the loader? Just do the following.

* Boot up the PC from your Windows installation disk
* Press and hold SHIFT and then press F10
* Input bootsect.exe /nt60 C:
* Restart the PC

I know that the Windows Loader modifies the SLIC in BIOS and the boot partition is also altered. The OS checks whether it is activated and genuine every time it boots. That's why with the modded BIOS the OS gave the disk read error

Interesting solution. But this command solves another problem like windows loading. Not disk read errors. But if it works, it probably something did mess up hdd description to BIOS. Glad you solved it.

I had this problem only recently, solution:
1. try reformat and reinstalling your windows, if cant,
2. you should change your hard disk, then try connect your old hard disk to your computer via USB to SATA interface, savage whatever files you can find in your old hard disk, then reformat it
3. then you can use your old hard disk as external HDD.
