Yo guys,

I'm having some very annoying lags during game-play. I did a quick search and found no topics around this, if there is appreciate if you can point it to me smile.gif

I've tuned my video settings down to the very minimum, when I play solo I don't have any problems, but when a flashy team mate comes by immediately the lag becomes crazy. Is it my PC specs? I'm considering doing an upgrade if it is. Here's my specs.

Proc: C2D E6600
Ram: 4GB
Graphics: GTX460

Also, by just upgrading those 3 parts, is it possible to get something that can play max settings without lag at all? Appreciate some help smile.gif

yes, u can achieve non lagging gameplay by upgrading those parts. but, u might need to upgrade your motherboard also as your C2D E6600 use old 775 socket, compared to updated processor that use LGA 1150/1155. i5 4460 is good already for gaming.

What's your current PSU power and model?

your RAM is enough currently, but if got extra money, can opt for extra 4GB stick. If money is your issue, buy any cheap GTX 750ti (RM500-RM600+++), u might able to use your old PSU as those card use little power biggrin.gif

Thanks for the info guys, appreciate it.

I can't recall my PSU, was a Silverstone, but I think it should be enough as there was quite a bit of buffer when I bought it. I'm currently using Unifi with the 10GB line, usually play in the close 200 MS range.

So if I get a i5 4460, 4GB stick x2, and a GTX760, plus a suitable mobo, that would be slightly above 2k, can consider. Any mobo with the correct socket will do?

Come to think of it, I've not met any lowyat guys on D3, should start adding you guys for gameplay smile.gif

P/s if GTX460 can handle medium to low maybe I can stay off from the graphics first, as long as it doesn't lag. When it lags my damage gets drastically reduced as well due to the lag in animation.

generally/to put it simply, you'll need a new pc.
SSD is also a must (imo) for D3 due to dynamic loading.

I've just help built a new pc for my sis for ~3k which can play d3 with pretty much max settings everything and FPS maxed out at 60 vertical synced
https://plus.google.com/+JasonLimQuazacolt/posts/M3Q47f77qRB
i5 4440, 8gb ram, GTX760, win8.1 64 bit (win8.1 boot up time in under 2-3 second is awesome as hell), Samsung EVO840 250GB SSD

high time to get a GTX760 as USA announced price drop and it's pretty much trickled down LYP
the time i got that 760 the price drop hasn't take effect yet, however it's an OC/custom edition which is at a pretty decent pricing so might as well just whack it.

also unifi 10mbit i assume? there's no 10GB (lol) lines.

I'm trying to keep within the 2k budget first. You're familiar with my old rig, those things are sufficient right? Just need a proc, ram, mobo and graphics for now. I can bear with the loading time as my character won't die when loading, he's basically not there until my screen loads so I don't take damage. SSD can wait another month later smile.gif

When you mean price drop, how much do you mean? Has the price already dropped? It's sitting around 700 now.

not really.

you realize diablo3 have virtually no loading screens after the initial load? that's because your game dynamically loads the next level and what not as you get nearer, aka a TON of hdd activity and conventional hdd is hard pressed to keep up especially if it's a very high density (say, >50% disk utilization) and/or highly fragmented HDD.

i had a usb3.0 workaround for my d3 until i eventually caved in and gotten a SSD myself, cloned it over (which means my 7/8 year old vista installation is still the same as it was on the old hdd) to the new SSD and call it a day.

if you're lucky, reference card GTX760 can be obtained within rm600-700.

put in on priority - hardware that TS urgent need upgrade

1)Possessor
2)Mobo
3)ram. new mobo using DDR3 ram .
4)Graphic card .(460GTX still able to handle d3 medium to low) upgrade if u got budget
5)SSD- significant increase loading time. Upgrade if u got budget

GC and SSD can buy 2nd hand form lyn gerage sales. i get my 160gb intel 320 ssd around 180rm .

rm700budget for GC , I will get a 2nd hand ATI 280x . but it is overkill for d3.

my ATI6870 1gb can handle 2x D3 no lag . because i using multiboxing . smile.gif

for d3 in general i'd prioritize as such:
1) graphic card
2) SSD (again, refer the links i linked, the initial loading time is no biggie, it's the dynamic loading that's a pain)
3) processor
4) ram

mobo is mainly platform to link every component together.

understandably TS's proc/mobo/ram is pretty much decrepit status so your prioritization is correct as well. nod.gif

You can try this method ... It worked for me... Just need to buy a 64gb flash drive (32gb will be sufficient for now but since its relatively cheap and have extra storage for future expansion or updates)

I had alot of loading lag / when players join game lag etc etc... But it's all gone now...

Hope this helps..

The link mentioned 16gb which is insufficient ... I had to buy a 2nd flash drive (64gb) because the 1st one I bought (16gb) not enough space... Atleast my post will save the OP a little bit of money lol biggrin.gif
