Hey guys,

I've decided to try to paint by hand brush. Are enamels good for hand brush?

And are enamel paint the same as aqueous paint?
*
aqueos paint are acrylic I think. Enamel are usually better for handbrushing since they dry slowly so they get to level and hide the brush mark. Acrylic is also good as long as you are getting the one that are designed for handpainting. Airbrush type acrylic, like tamiya, dries pretty fast.

please, the MG Strike Freedom was terrible.. the PG at least looks more intimidating
however i'm still not saying it justifies the pricepoint whistling.gif whistling.gif

the number of parts in the PG Unicorn intrigues me.. the show of the LED makes me want it.. but maybe after i see some reviews and when i get some salary bonus whistling.gif whistling.gif

play the waiting game. I already lost the hype for it but seeing the CG rendered kit made me excited again. But must resist the PO game, there will be plenty of opportunity to get them (the yen rate today though is lower)

correct me if I am wrong but anime/movie and official line-art has clearly shown that it is not really Black even though it is referred to as Black Unicorn in the anime/movie

You are not. I like Banshee color. Is it bluish? Black? Gray? It's a mixture of both.
*
I like banshee color, in a dark room, it will be black but transfer it in a well lit room and it will change to bluish dark gray or black (whatetever is more appropriate)

can i sent to him?
looks like he already have painted much kits
*
i will be brutally honest about this. Please dont flame me. I wont even send my plamo to him. I did not try to look for other stuff but the use of macross decal and decal placing alone is enough for me to stay away from him

HxiiiK mentioned someone that does commissioned work, I suggest try to save and afford his talent fee if it is higher (or someone that has a better portfolio). Or you can even do it yourself. just do learn at slow pace and be patient.

as mushy has mentioned, damage is done. If you got one, how would you even correct it? I remember handling seed face mask as being really small and Wing suit is smaller.

White plastic will yellow overtime if they are exposed to UV light (sunlight and all artificial light source except LED emits UV as well) and smoke. The quality of the plastic matters since some of them takes longer to age while others is faster. Using clear coat might help slowing it down but it will still yellow over time. There are Clear coat that helps further slow down the effect of UV.

Some white paint can yellow overtime. afaik, only enamels are notorious from yellowing. Acrylics and Lacquer, as long as it is a quality paint(cause some paints have added materials to make it UV resistant, cheaper paint can easily skip this to save cost and to sell cheaper), might take a really long time to yellow.

for example, if you saw white cars gets yellow, it is actually their clear coat that gets to yellow first. That is why if you would see a well maintained 10 year old car, you can see that it can still be more brighter white than a other 5 year old char.

metal build, the "Collector toy" line of Bandai that is close to 1/100 scale and uses die-cast in joints. It is also full of paint applications as well.

if you want to slow down the process of money burning, try to customize your models. It is actually easy to do straight build

here is a blog from philippines but my advise is the same.

correct me if i am wrong. I forgot what SD gundam series it is (the one that is like set in China-like country with gundam super powers and gods). but those are from that series. I think some created a full size representation of those SD design.

edit:
the big suit on the right is Epyon.

ankle weak coz plastic? or all Rx-78 Grades has the same crap weak ankle design ?
*
from the review back then, it is not total crap, but it is the side-effect of having a complex ankle that allows more range of movement (which is the focus of RX-78-2 3.0)

I only use setter on my water slide decals the seal it with gloss and flat coat. I built a hasegawa VF-25S and it is more than a year now and nothing has changed on the quality of the print. No cracks whatsoever. To be honest, I always prefer water slide decals since it gives you time to properly align the markings, for dry transfers, you can only do it once perfectly or you are screwed.

as for the thickness of decals, setter also melts decals so it will go a bit thinner.

yes, for the price it will be gold plated. Though it is wishful thinking, but I still hope bandai will undergate the plated parts.

imo, only the led is required to complete the PG unicorn, since it is the feature that set it apart from other scale size. FA is purely preference.
