...and for this reason alone, I NEVER start on another kit unless the one I'm working on is completed lol laugh.gif

but the byproduct of this rule is, as you mentioned, BACKLOGS sweat.gif  sweat.gif

Sometimes you just couldn't resist, even though you knew the kit wouldn't be going away.

Goint to repaint the back of the shield, I thought it wouldn't be noticeable, but it was.

NO, not morning! Not when its cold!
Find a time that the sun is right on top on your head, and its so hot you have to wear a singlet. That is the most suitable time for top coating!

NEVER TOP COAT AFTER RAIN, NEVER TOP COAT WHEN THE WEATHER IS COLD. NEVER.
*
Always topcoat under direct sunlight in the afternoon, around 11am to 4pm. 12pm-2pm should be the best biggrin.gif

Tq.. Is it have any different timing for glossy and matte?? Or all type of top coat can be done between 12 - 2??
*
No difference, but you should take precaution. Always allow 20-30 minutes of the first layer to completely dry, otherwise when you spray the second layer of coating, frosting can still occur.

Btw, can anyone tell me is there a need to get Mr. Surfacer and Mr. Base White? Or getting one will do?

Gundam Guy - gundamguy.blogspot.com

There are cheaper (and bigger volume) alternatives you can find in hardware stores.

kinda surprised no one mentioned PG unicorn. *ehm*

Not really, as I said before, depends on the review. I would be happy if I got it for free, but it's not something that I really want, for now.

QUOTE(amosai @ Nov 17 2014, 10:59 AM)
Can you suggest some alternatives? ^.^

I personally use Krylon plastic primer, so far works great. Try to find them at Ace Hardware.

anyone here use Krylon Matte Finish for top coat??? care to give a review and guide for me..
*
You need to apply extra 1-2 layers compared to Mr. Hobby. On the bright side, the volume is much bigger than Mr. Hobby.

That's the only way... or spray/ab the whole thing.

That's like defeating the purpose of buying an electro-plated kit, no?

No amount of AB can replace electroplating finish.

i prefer non mirror coated on the kit.. its expensive, its fingerprint magnet, nub shows and just reflect almost everything n hides the details..
so puke gold works best for me for painting purposes..

Think this way, special kit needs special handling. Wear gloves (and shades to prevent blindness).

Hey guys,

I've decided to try to paint by hand brush. Are enamels good for hand brush?

And are enamel paint the same as aqueous paint?
*
Same principle as airbrush, you need to get the thinner ratio right. For hand brush I prefer acrylic, you just need water instead of thinner, but that's just me.

Thanks a lot! I'll get the acrylic type and give it a try =D.... One last question, Gaia basic paint are acrylic right?
I think so, check here for more info,
http://www.dutycalculator.com/country-guid...-into-Malaysia/

and

http://tariff.customs.gov.my/
*
The tariff code is 9503.00.400 (PDK) or 9503.00.4000 (AHTN), sales tax is 10%. Usually if the quantity is only a few boxes (MG), even if it exceeds the 'guideline' of RM500, they will just let it go.

Still not sure why Bandai couldn't release complete undergated runners, it's not like they can't. I don't even think the cost impact is noticeable.

I'm impressed, it definitely has that PG proportion compared to some of the previous PGs (looking at you, SF and 00R!) Just waiting for a dose of good reviews and I'll get this for Christmas next year, with the LED unit laugh.gif

QUOTE(Nawar @ Nov 20 2014, 04:21 AM)
mind sharing how to top coat the unicorn..

would transform it to unicorn mode and top coat it would be ok?
or mask the clear parts and topcoat?
*
For a precious PG kit with lots of semi-clear parts like this, I would rather be careful and spray the armor and piece by piece laugh.gif
