Hi guys..this is my 1st trial or experiment for spray can..
i want to know..whats actual cost if using air brush?
coz 2 hand already cost me 1 and half spray can..with 2 layer..well not exactly 2 layer i think.

my 1st trial seems fail..i should undercoat with white color before apply silver metalic.
tomorrow will continue body part n head..

Two arms and you spent almost two cans? Something is definitely WRONG with the way you painted those pieces, definitely not just '2 layers'.

I sprayed the whole MG ARF frame too, and I still have some volume left for the Tamiya spray can, which volume is way less than those spray cans you can find in normal hardware shops.

If you want to bring out the metallic colors, you need dark undercoat/basecoat, especially black.

im using rm10 spray can only..so i need black undercoat?not white?black mate or solid?
can u share how u do it?the layer.. do u spray piece by piece?i think i spray too much coz no undercoat..
when i spray the white part with black not use so much..

A more appropriate thread to discuss painting is here.

Since you are using normal spray paint, don't be skimpy on the usage. By that I mean yes, spray piece by piece and be really patient.

If you want your metallic silver to shine (which is the purpose of painting with metallic color), then use black base coat (gloss, it will help the silver to stick better).

There are lots of good painting tutorial, just search on the Internet for spray painting tutorial.

Is it that bad.. not detailed like most MG?
it looks like a zeta/ transformable flight MS type..

RE1/100 line is intended for kits with MG-like details but with articulation, part separation and counts of an HG.

my complete mg arf..my 1st trial..not really nice combination..
*
Good effort on your first trial, a popular customs color scheme nevertheless (silver/black combo) smile.gif

However, try to improve your painting technique, obvious paint blotches on the shoulders, and pay attention to the complete build and identify which area needs to be painted. While some areas do not need to be painted, but there are crevices that must be taken care of, evident by the reds on arms and at the hips.

Oh and since you use silver, use mechanical pencil to draw the panel lines, normal Gundam marker usually do not work well on shiny pieces (depends on paint type) biggrin.gif

water transfer is cake walk compare to dry transfer.

but to make it safe you do it like you playing poker, keep shouting peekture peekture and pull the sheet up slowly, if you notice the transfer is not complete put the sheet back on and work on the areas not transfered properly instead of pulling it up like you remove a handyplast.
*
I really don't like dry transfer, I would rather pay an extra of RM 15-RM 20 to get waterslide decal, the quality is higher and much more convenient. There was one third party water slide which was pre-cut, forgot the brand (not Samuel), very nice.

Stupid question; any tips for doing the posing for Gunpla? I just finished my first MG and abit scared that I might break some parts while moving it sweat.gif

What model?

Usually you should check the limb's articulation individually, then you'll know their movements range when assembled. You can also look at the manual and the box to see the 'recommended poses', or refer to online reviews.

I think it's about time we leave him be, most of the time his posts are self-contradicting.

Tryon 3 and Crossbone X1 will be released too!

You can do customized build on any kit from any series if you are imaginative enough smile.gif

I'm pretty sure bandai doesn't do painted prototypes that differ from the final product TOO much

As far as i remember, its usually resin prototype, then painted one pretty damn close to the finished product

***wishful thinking that Bandai has finally done the gold color mold right***

i'd much rather the fixed hands (that you have to split in 2 to put in the weapons) and they usually provide some good open hand ones.. much better to play with compared to the 3+1 and the movable thumb with swappable 4 fingers
*
The manipulator works fine for me, just need a very small piece of card board to slip into the palm/wrist joint, and blutack in thewrist/arm joint. Works wonderful.
