Those who ate using the watch as a phone. Dick Tracy style. How good is the loudspeaker?

Works pretty well when I'm in my office.

Out of it, I'll definitly need my BT earpiece. Privacy are one of the main reason.

With too many BT connection and sim data..... battery never last a day....

Do you need to hold it near your ear or just placing it on your desk is loud enough to talk and hear?

BT only is fine, it is the SIM data and voice that sucks battery.

For me, for privacy reasons, I set to lowest volume and hold it up to my ear. It's easier on my old Gear 1 coz the speaker is located at the buckle. Feels more natural listening to the buckle rather than the watch itself.

I see.

You can set the sim for receiving call only. and not mobile data right? Would doing that save some battery?

I would say 20% more compared to mobile data ON. And another reason is because I set the clock to "always on"

If it's loud enough for other to heat then it seems reasonably looks enough.

I remember nokia Symbian phone that use amoled screen 'always on' the clock. Though Symbian less powerful and less resource hungry.

If can go for one long day is good enough for calling function. But it won't last long If you talk for one hour straight I suppose?

Can someone recommend any software for the Gear S that can view the camera screen on the phone and capture? Something like "Gear2cam" for the Gear 2. Can't seem to find one that can view the screen.

I just hope the full android port can fully port over to gear s... I wanna buy this for fitness use. Do you think its a wise choice? As no need bring phone to jogging or cycling etc...

I know Gear s2 is around the corner but i have a feeling that it wont be as standalone as a device and is more expensive. No speaker is sad...

My personal opinion is that Samsung threw everything into the Gear S, and after some feedback they seem to have removed GPS from the S2 LTE, and perhaps the UV sensor.

If you think you value the GPS, then get the S since the S fulfils all fitness needs by having heartrate, accelerometer, GPS, speaker etc.

I think nobody ever used the UV sensor.

You can use the Gear S as a fully standalone device, although you will need charging at least once around 2-3pm if you are actively calling on it.

I don't mind the battery life because what to expect they crammed so many things into a relative small device.

My only concern is wearing it in public as it is quite big and people might stare at it weirdly lol...

I am just finding online see who is selling their gear s second hand. Found one in this forum but still no reply yet sad.gif
