Hi all, Navigator standalone is now released. You can use the GPS WITHOUT the Gear S being tethered to your phone.

QUOTE(Terence573 @ Jun 11 2015, 04:19 PM) Yes it occurs if you are a sweaty person It has happened to mine. As such, if at all I get another smartwatch, I'll take magnetic wireless charging. I grudgingly admit fapple got this correct, but also Moto360 got it right the first time. |

Hate it when I have to plug the charging port all the time...sometimes it wont charge. Now I'm frustrated over the corroded charging port...which may die anytime soon. And who the heck dont sweat.Phobia now whether to wear it or not.Clearly a samsung design flaw So no smartwatch for me until there's wireless charging feature. |

Apart from the activation which you could activate without samsung phone, how about app update? Do you need Gear Manager to update app? I would like to use it fully standalone with a dedicated sim.
Thank you~ |

Yes you do need a Samsung phone for the Gear Manager app to perform updates or other app installs.Thank you~ Note however, the limitation of devices like the Gear S is its screen size. God forbid you want to draft an email reply on a 2" screen although you can do it if you really want to. |
