Anyone here already use VPS which is located in Malaysia? I prefer unmanaged service type.
I know that bandwidth in Malaysia very expansive, but quite few IX hops compared with Singapore

What are you up to? There's many options, like vpsplaza/hostemo(seems down), shinjiru or exabytes. I know FinchVPN / johntlh have some VPS in Malaysia, might want to ask him

I has been use VPSPlaza (MY) over 6 month, the IX hop not nice. PTNTN and UDP packet often drop.

Yes, if not why I should ask,
also I know the restriction, and most important, no BT.

For a reputable host, i would recommend IPServerOne. https://www.ipserverone.com/cloud-hosting/packages/

Consider cheap and reliable. Works with your budget USD230/year if you pay in yearly... Slightly expensive than iCore, but at least it is some reputable host that I tried before and the performance is good. Support is good too!

If you really really want cheap, DigitalOcean in Singapore is way to go...

Both of you have tried DigitalOcean?
I considering local first due less IX hop then SG, we experimenting PTNTN protocol, find a good network path where less packet drop.

digitalocean routing is quite OK, and the latency is only 10ms higher or so compared to iCore.

Personally I use DigitalOcean for my business production purpose, and also for testing. You can just simply get some referral code to sign up an account and get some free credits (might need to throw in USD5 when starting), then you can go ahead and try out whatever you need. Billing is done hourly, so it can really save a lot for testing purpose.

Latency wise, for Maxis FTTH is perfect around 15~20ms, but for UniFi VIP or BIZ, previously having high spike at night (150ms), but starting last weeks seems to be better which stable at 15-20ms all day long.

You can use my personal use looking glass in Singapore DigitalOcean to test whatever you want to. http://lg.nickyzai.com/

Sign up DigitalOcean here and get $10 if you want to. tongue.gif https://www.digitalocean.com/?refcode=17138030dfad

Not bad, comparable price over latency, I feel DigitalOcean is the choice, it show low ping with less hop...
