But subsidize also not really a lot. Lemme calculate correctly first. He he.

I did Calculate for mine
I use data more than call/SMS(really hardly)
A surfmore 50(2gb) vs ivalue1(2gb) makes the same for me as I can't use up the 333min(all-net) or 1000sms(on-net)
If I use the phone at least 2yr
I save back more from surfmore than ivalue1
For my usage yes la... tongue.gif

Bro...since you are existing surf more 50, you should get iValue 1 for 12months contract. At the end of the contract you just pay extra RM50 but you got free call and sms for 333min(all-net) or 1000sms(on-net).

Retail Price iPhone 6 64GB                  - RM2749
Subsidy price (iValue 1) iPhone 6 64GB - RM2199
You save                                            - RM 550
If you sign up iValue 1 you have to pay extra RM50 per month on top of your previous surf more 50 plan
so 12 x RM50 = RM600

At the end RM600 - RM550 = RM50 you have to pay at the end of the contract

It's opposite, I had been on ivalue1 for 3 years from the 4S launch
Nowadays hardly uses call/SMS
Call max 100min, SMS <10

I m going the other way round this time, get the phone, chg to surfmore

Most folks who still stick with the Maxis route is because they want to save a bit of cash on the phone by signing up with a contract. I know a lot of my colleagues who aren't that in a rush to get the phone hence they just wait and order through Maxis.

Here's my take on it...
I was on iValue1 for last 3 years...
I know i never utilise the quota given (the voice/sms thing), more or less may be up to 30min call a month(excluding family line), almost 0 sms (with IM around, will u?)
so i m paying 100++ for the 2GB technically...
i don chg phone when new gen release...but rather on my 2-3yr refresh...
so when put that against the Surfmore50 vs iValue1
by end of 2nd year i pay less for the TCO with SurfMore than iValue...
and since Maxis give a shit on pre-order...just jump for Apple Store...
got the device within 5 days, 2nd day walk to a maxis outlet and chg sim...kaotim...
n now my bill is on the 50++ 1...yet to see how much it will become...but for sure not 100++ tongue.gif

Bro, I had the same situation as you, my phone bill is covered by company, currently my plan is talk more 48 + 99 (unlimited data plan, currently capped at 10GB), I can't sign any plan as 99 already legacy plan. Was dilemma should I sign plan to get the phone or remain current plan and get the phone from App Store. Any advice?
