Gapless - No pauses between songs. You won't have to endure the second or two of silence that's added in.

yeah...
dont know how it works though... the ones i know are when the first song is finishing, the finishing part will become softer and the second song comes in from soft to loud....completing the transition from first to second song without any gaps....thus "Gapless" please correct me if i'm wrong....heheh |

lokgotz, that's crossfading. Gapless just eliminates the silence between tracks. Sounds great on some albums, I've played around with it a bit. It'll work in iTunes, on the iPod Video, and on the iPod Nano. No support for the other iPods yet.

If you have Linkin Park Live in Texas CD, try that with this gapless thing. You'll know the difference whereby the fans are shouting continuously even when the track is changing to another.
Whereas using a normal cd player, there's a slight delay/silent (milliseconds) when track is changing. That's what I assume so far. This post has been edited by goliath: Sep 13 2006, 10:35 PM |

some CDs have gapless playback as well.
examples: tiesto's album classical music (mozart, beethoven, etc) live concert gapless playback means the whole album will play as though it is one extra long song. |
