Just curious, how do you guys deal with missing pieces for clone brick sets. (For those who deal directly with TB or those who deal with local shops).

QUOTE(zu_yong @ May 9 2016, 08:21 AM) For my case, my supplier will check his "stash" for the missing bricks. If he does not have it, he will contact his supplier to get a replacement but this process will take a longer time (So far I have not encounter this before so I'm not sure how long it will take). Usually I'll just walk in to Amcorp to search for the missing parts (Flea market or BrickSanctuary) instead of waiting unless it's a "special piece" which you can't buy. QUOTE(jerrykit @ May 9 2016, 11:18 AM) It's really frustrating to have missing parts in the sets we're building which means you couldn't continue with your bricking & you gotta go out sourcing, like what a member mentioned, you may go to brick sanctuary, they have most of the parts that you may be needing else you may head to Mighty Utan (Dataran Prima Branch / Cheras Branch). I've encountered few times with missing parts especially Lepin & once with enlighten pirate ship. Thanks for the advice guys. Shall buy the GBHQ and hope for the best!:D |

QUOTE(jerrykit @ May 11 2016, 04:31 PM) Glad to hear that, it's a large set & i think you need long hours to finish it, mind sharing how much you got it? i know lepin & bela also have this temple, but not sure what's the differences. Got it for RM240! I'm not too sure either but I guess Lepin should have good brick quality from the reviews that I have read and watched. Minifig quality is not perfect though but I'm in it for the building so I guess it's alright for me. I could not find any reviews for the Bela set so I chose the Lepin one. |

QUOTE(M.Tucker @ May 12 2016, 09:50 AM) Hehe, actually my family was not that well to do when i was young. Ironically Lego was not doing well in the lat 70s early 80s so it was quite cheap at the time. My first sets were a lego city police car and a huge robot mech from the 'space' series at the time. In this day and age (plus our geographical location), MOC-ing has become really expensive. sigh. While it's one of the things I have always wanted to do, I just can't bear to break my existing sets apart. With regards to being able to moc, it think its a skill that comes naturally after playing with lego a lot. After a while, you start to automatically recognise pieces and how they fit together at one glance. The real challenge (and fun) then comes from figuring out new ways to make two pieces fit together, |

QUOTE(zu_yong @ May 13 2016, 11:07 AM) Thanks alot!QUOTE(M.Tucker @ May 13 2016, 02:15 PM) seriously dude. Thats why ive gotten into these lego compatible sets. the price alows me to grab multiple copies of a set for MOC-ing purposes or just loose brick sources for customizing stock sets. Yea. Lepin's Temple of Airjitzu is my first exposure to clone bricks and I must say that the quality of the bricks is definitely acceptable (besides the substitution of some parts). Will probably buy more of clone brick sets for some rare colors/parts.As an example the smaller tumbler + batpod i have is from 2 x Decool stock tumbler sets ( 2xRm50) + 1 Decool simple technic truck set ( rm10). In fact i still have quite a bit black pieces left to mod my bat which should be arriving tomorrow. Anyway, do you guys have any recommendations for LOTR clone brick sets or minifigs (brand-wise)? Looking for the LOTR elves minifigs. This post has been edited by Jupjupjup: May 13 2016, 03:03 PM |

QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Jun 4 2016, 11:33 PM) if cafe corner is coming...that means the retired sets (green grocer / palace cinema etc) possibly be coming too ? It sounds a bit abnormal but even if everything looks perfect, you could still have missing parts. I had an opened packet and tallied the part count with the official lego manual. Even though it was correct, I still had some other missing parts. The way I see it, just don't be obsessed with finding every single part when building Lepin sets. Just move on if possible and you may find the missing part hidden somewhere if you are lucky.btw...i need opinions from those what have bricked lepin temple of airjitzu...recently i bought a set, only today i have the time to check the content...good thing is all parts are sealed in plastic bags...however there's one sealed plastic bag with only a pair of minifig legs in it whereas the rest of the minifigs legs are sealed in other plastic bag...do i need to panic now because i fear that there might be missing parts ? |

QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Jun 5 2016, 01:27 PM) If you bought it locally, ou could always ask your seller to source you some replacement parts. Speaking of which, does anyone have any experience getting replacement parts for sets that have been ordered through Taobao? |

I ordered 2 Lepin GBHQ from taobao with taobao direct shipping and now the shipment has been rejected at the warehouse in China because it is apparently too big.
Anyone encountered the same problem before? This post has been edited by Jupjupjup: Jun 7 2016, 10:56 PM |

QUOTE(RokXIII @ Jun 7 2016, 11:15 PM) for direct shipping, each side of the parcel cannot be more than 80cm, and sum up of 3 sides (HxWxL) cannot be more than 120cm, and the weight is 15KG. Thanks for the advice! In your experience, would i need to pay additional charges for that?either you could ask the seller help u to re-package the parcel (take away the big box, put all the parts inside into another smaller box) or get agent help you on that.. i nearly encounter the same when i ordered 7111, luckily the seller did ask me whats the limitation of the parcel's measurement before he shipped it out. |

QUOTE(RokXIII @ Jun 8 2016, 08:12 PM) you have to confirm with them if the limitation is 120cm or 130cm, as i remember the measurement for GBHQ seems exceeded 120cm. Thanks for the advic guys. The seller recommended to discard the box and repack it all into one big bag for me; which i agreed. He assured me that they wont be missingbags but i guess we shall see.agree, thats 1 of the solutions. According to Customize minifigs intelligence, the lepin gbhq bags have a serial number each so i shall hope for the best |

QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Jun 8 2016, 09:33 PM) the serial numbers on the bag won't help as the manual is illustrated based on bigger plastic bags (e.g: #1 #2 #3 and so on)...decool 7111 did a good job on that I am using the serial numbers to identify if there are any missing bags so that would serve its purpose. In other words, I'm not concerned with the numbered bags that lego uses to segregate between manuals. |
