lately have gotten into bootleg lego.. owned only Decool so far as the brand has been very satisfactory (no missing parts, very minimal fitting issues)
so far i have the Tumbler, the Ferrari and the Hulkbuster.. how does SY compare to Decool? any instances of missing pieces? I see SY actually do a lot of releases especially the latest Marvel ones.. how about Bela?

since the Ferrari I have also been hooked to lego Technic style releases.. have always dreamt of owning those since i was young, and really love how they have gimmicks of different kinds.. any other releases of those? some brands which don't have problems of fitting and missing pieces i can look into? feel like looking for the lego technic F1 car from Decool now

I'm quite amused at the effect Lepin is having on the market

Remember last time when GBHQ was released scalpers were pouring and filling their trolleys with boxes and boxes? now I can see some in Box of Bricks for 1799 (the original RRP, i believe)

Sucks to be the scalpers now, I hope they never sell it or forced to sell at a huge loss laugh.gif

i just can't brain it that lepin manage to release so many sets at one go...like they have everything prepared for the past 1 year or so and now time to flood the market

i think lego have no time to stop them also laugh.gif
*
maybe their business plan is to throw out all the sets at once, earn a ton of money, then close shop and run before lego have time to stop them laugh.gif

maybe even start under different company after that.. you never know, china is the land of possibilities laugh.gif

Started on my Porsche 911gts over the week since I'm sick and on MC, first thing i noticed when I opened the box, was that "wow, lepin even copied and separated it all into different boxes for different parts! amazing!"

Then I opened it up and the parts were still jumbled and not sorted as per the boxes labelled at all, like all of lepin's other releases. Ah, Lepin, you break my heart laugh.gif

As for the car itself, fantastic. Almost done with the inner portion and all the Technic parts and no complaints so far. Though one thing I want to ask, how do you all sort your blocks for easy building? I realize i spend more than half the time not actually building but flipping through the parts to find the one i need

i see...you're also one of the silent readers like me...haha

indeed germans are also accepting lepin products now...

for me, quality of lepin has surpassed my expectations, it's almost 95% lego identical albeit few minor changes here and there

the AFOLs that demanded lego to take legal actions is like what you said...it's hurting their investment (UCS MF MISB selling at rm15k or $3000 comes to mind...), i hate these kinda so-called lego purists but in actual fact they are just a bunch of scalpers that hinder the not-so-rich collectors (e.g: me) from achieving our childhood dream since those popular sets are not in production anymore & unavailable in RRP market.

hopefully lego can reduce its prices and compete with lepin, or re-release sets such as haunted house etc at lower price ...i would be more than happy to support lego if lego sets are priced appropriately...but this is just a dream

Quite frankly I think LEGO sets are "priced appropriately". It is just out of reach for some people who are unable to spend so much for a single LEGO set. You need to remember that LEGO is a company, and that they do R&D and pay people to work and design and in the end they need to see profits.

That being said, what I DON'T support is the so called "investors" a.k.a. scalpers. The fiasco of GBHQ is one of the latest one that comes to mind. Scalpers pouring into shops at release date to buy boxes upon boxes just to make some quick money. I always find this practice quite ridiculous and I will support LEPIN like hell if it forces scalpers to not be able to sell back their stocks.

However, as above, I'm quite torn but as someone who just wants to relive his childhood while at the same time not too rich, I will continue to support LEPIN simply because it is cheaper. Sorry LEGO, but I need to care for my wallet as well. Though to be fair some designs I would never have bought if it weren't for LEPIN. I know some might say if you can't afford the hobby you shouldn't be having it. But LEPIN offered a good alternative without ripping a hole in my wallet and I am, of course, grateful

why do you need to feel bad ?
do you know the lego businessmen are millionaires thanks to the hardcore fans and laughing all the way to the bank ?
*
to be fair we can't really fault them for doing a legitimate business. but we can laugh at scalpers who dry up the supply expecting to earn a huge profit at the expense of fans.

like westthen said, lepin is still stealing designs, and turning it into profit for themselves. That, in definition, is still breaking the law

let's not forget to acknowledge that, though we still can buy and enjoy the lepin sets, we can't really justify ourselves in that way.

omg, thanks for the heads up.. I was observing this set hoping to buy it because i love technics
will avoid for now.. shame though, i finished my Porsche 911 gt3 and it was pretty good.. sure there are some tight parts but it didn't hinder the overall model too much.. and a few non essential missing pieces so overall pretty okay with the price i paid

Ordered from a friend who frequently do a direct shipment from china.. And got it for almost RM 800.. Simply cheaper from Aliexpress by RM100 plus.

Received mine today.. Really can't wait to put my hand on this beast 😋

Been trying to clear out some of my old lepin stuff which I never built, like Ghostbuster HQ, Batman Tumbler and SHIELD Helicarrier but so far like no response.. guess hype died down haha

So far haven't seen much new KO lego stuff in terms of the bigger ones as well
