Hi guys,

I am planning to change my stock suspension to Eibach Prokit to reduce some fender gap on my Honda Civic FB (Modulo bodykit installed).

The reason for me choosing this spring is because

1) I will be able to maintain my car's comfort level similar to stock according to many online reviewers
2) It will not lower the car drastically (1-1.25 inch according to eibach website)

However, I'm facing some dilemma here due to Malaysian roads (potholes, speed bump etc)

For those of you who have Eibach installed or a slightly lowered car (1-1.2 inch from stock) I have some questions:

1) I often fetched 5 people in my car. Therefore, will installing eibach make me prone to scraping my undercarriage when going over speed bumps? I do not want to do the "S" pattern when going over bumps. shakehead.gif

2) Do I need to change my absorber? I am planning to keep it stock.

3) Will road noise increase? If yes, will it be unbearable?

That is all.

Your advise is much appreciated. biggrin.gif

Thanks!

Changing Spring only is shit . Trust me .

Went HnR Sports Spring and the drive was f***ed .

In the end, changed absorbers and paired it to Bilsterin B8 absorbers.

Lowered springs always have to compromise on stiffness otherwise you are going to compress the springs till you hit the bump stop. Unfortunately, most stock dampers are not made to handle the stiffer springs and will pretty much f up your ride as stated by omnimech.

Just did a short browse on the net and found out that Bilstein b8 is priced around RM2.5k to RM3k depending on car model. Therefore, total cost for springs (RM1.1k) + absorber will be around RM3.5k++ sweat.gif

Its almost the same price as getting coilovers. blink.gif

I've been quoted RM3.3k with installation for BC BR coilovers. hmm.gif

1. Depends on weight that you carry, not how many person. But chances of hitting fender will be much higher.
2. You may keep your existing absorber but don't expect it to last like pair with stock spring.
3. Road noise mostly contribute by tires not spring.

Everyone butt is different, you may or may not like the feel of it. But visually sure look better when lowered. Next will be bigger rim and low profile tire.

Hmm.. my family members aren't that "big build". Average 65kg per person so 325kg for 5 people.

I thought the lower the car is then road noise will increase as the car is now closer to the ground.

You may consider Tanabe NF instead.
It's only about 2-3cm lower so should still be able to clear most speed bumps unless those made ridiculously high/sharp. Of course you'd still have to go a bit slower than your current stock setup.
It's only about 5% stiffer spring rate than stock so it's still very compatible with stock dampers and hence almost like stock comfort too. I think Eibach Pro Kit is stiffer than this Tanabe NF based on my past experiences (I've used both before even though they're on different cars).
Noise is no issue for springs.

Will look into that. Thanks

You can try BC V1 which should be cheaper than the BR and not as stiff. I just got my second set installed after my first set of BC went kaput after a couple of years. I rode for almost a year on dead dampers before I had the time to change it. You can go to G1Racing in Sunway which is the distributor to get it installed and get an extra one month on warranty. That was where I got mine done last weekend.

How's the ride like and the price for it if I may ask? rolleyes.gif
