yes i agree their core business (water utilities, electric utilities, constructions, constructions materials, hospitality & leisure) is good business.

PE, DY, Gross Profit Margin and EPS seems not bad.
BUT the Total Borrowings + Trade Payables & Receivables makes me worried...

DY is good, but growth is also important. If business goes down a bit how to pay debts + give dividends...

Isn't high gearing ratio common among utilities?

YTL cement is one of the bigger semen players in Bolehland...

And their hotels are all around the world...

Weakening Ringgit and Yen should do Bolehland and Japan tourism some good...

Bursa got 1000over counters.
I still got other choice, rather than force myself picking the counter which I don't feel comfortable with.

But really I like their business, just don't like their Financial Health...

Just anal-ed the Yeoh Dynasty financials...results from 2010 to latest quarterly of 30 Sep 2014...

Cannot buy wan la! doh.gif

Revenue no growth...downtrend some more! shakehead.gif

Margins are decent though, GP and PBT margins in the region of 22% and 12% respectively. hmm.gif

The Group have been miserly with dividends in previous years, average payout was 33%, only FYE 30 Jun 2014 they have been very generous with 80% payout, translating to 6.8% DY at current price. It remains to be seen whether they would continue with the generous payout.

If they continue to be generous with divvy, can buy and keep as divvy stock lar...

If no...stay away grumble.gif

Spooked by Ah Boon and sold Homer sweat.gif

At current rate of growth and dividend yield, I'd be better off with a REIT sleep.gif
