Technical analysis does not work when buying and selling is determined by news, the news of oil price to be exact.
*
Hehe, well also not right to just buy on good news, sell on bad news ya? Since this oil price event, some stocks still considered 'ok'

As long as the risk/reward ratio is good and the systems suits you, then is ok. Most important is you know what you do and be discipline to yourself ba cheers.gif

Found this in USA stocks discussion. Just to share it over here in case anyone might be interested in it.

Basically something bout someone who quite accurate in predicting the cycles (spring, autumn, winter, summer) and now there are signs that we're at autumn (which in turns means the worse is not over yet)

If i interpreted wrongly, please do feel free to correct me tongue.gif

Thanks. Interesting.

Mentioned about winter. But that depends on which hemisphere one is referring to. I assume world economic is dominated by the northern hemisphere.

BB
Mentioned "rising interest rate" results in "deflation". I thought it should be inflation as the higher rate will result in higher business cost and thus higher prices.

But with time, the prices will be too high resulting in declining business and later business closure. And thus comes deflation?

CC
Scary to hear about the :
*  economic Perfect Storm comparison.
*  similarity of the 3 countries (UK, Germany & France) in 1914 and the 3 countries (US, China & Japan) in 2014.

Thanks for sharing.

Cheerio.

Glad i could help. Credits to Brother J on the other side biggrin.gif

I thought interest rate is rise to lessen the amount of money in circulation which in turns keep infaltion low = deflation?

Yeap no harm to watch out for the 3 countries. smile.gif

Wanna ask a question though it may sound stupid

"Buy when a stock is going up",so after the recent sell down, ~16/10/2014, then it rises up to around mid november (where some stocks stabilize), if one buy at around that date, now boleh mampus lo. So this scenario is wrongly apply?

I sold prematurely, could have earned much more.  doh.gif

So for this case, i'm assuming PE ~8 is considered high and below 5 is considered good buy?

Thanks again gark

Guys, have a question. Found this statement

"If a stock earn $1 per share and you bought the share at $100, the return is only $1. But if the share is at $10, your return is $10."

Can i know what ratio is this? In other words is EPS/Share price?

That should be earnings yield..

Your entry price affects your earnings yield.. this is the second criteria in Joel greenblatts magic formula investing..

I believe at this moment, with the velocity of the recent sell down....
a bounce is to be expected (ie something like today) .....
so what I would like to see is...
stocks managing to hold on to whatever gains they can muster today....
this would help 'reduce' the chances of being suckered into a false bounce........
yes... I would like to see some stability in the trading first......

on the other hand....
if I am scalping for a quick bounce profit.......
I would have been IN already.....

in short... it all depends on your game... smile.gif

Keke, boss, after stabilize, you would buy at the previous low or break its swing high?

Break its swing high, meaning traders interpreted the outlook is brighter?

If drop back to previous low, i guess there's probability that is going to continues its prevalent trend which is downtrend ya?
