Newbie here hoping for some opinions:

I have a small portfolio of Vanguard mutuals (not ETFs) bought when in USA some time ago. However, very low % bonds. I'm looking for the best fund to exchange into if equities become uninteresting. Some risk is OK, so maybe a junk bond fund like VWEHX together with a US Treasury like VFITX?

Some bond funds seem to follow the equities charts while others are contra. Better to buy now and keep, with current high prices or wait for a moderate dip? Each new purchase is minimum Rm10k :-(

What are your thoughts about US energy funds? I have been undecided about the bottom and worried that I missed it because climbing again. Buy in May no matter what? (Please, no lectures about timing and emotions. I'm all that.)

can i get some advice and direction on US stock market? International student in Cali and before heading back to malaysia by the end of the week, would you recommend that I put my small savings about $1.5k towards share market? Ill be gone for about 3 months and want to make good use of my savings instead of earning $.01 of interest in my savings account. Thanks!

Do you have a US address, phone, SS num and bank account with online facilities? Open an account with Vanguard, which you can't do from here. It will also enable trading other companies' stocks and funds and some free ETFs. Just put some money in VMSXX as holding funds for future purchases, topping up from Malaysia later. If you are not a savvy econ student don't buy stocks now in this dangerous period without studying what's going on.

Smart to invest young, best of luck.
