Yes, right now, it is expensive. If you're longer buy and term hold, just wait till it pulls back around the 50ma line (179-180) for a chance. I would not buy at the top of the band unless it is for quick scalp only.
*
great. 50MA is just right for me, not any longer MA. lol .... tq

Icahn already owns 53 mln shares of AAPL and he wants AAPL to go 230 instead of staying here at 130.
Not sure if I care but I just hold the commons for longer term and sell cover calls and short puts to continue to make money every week. Interestingly, $5 move per week can make up quite a lot of juicy premium.  biggrin.gif

correct me if i m wrong. i remember Icahn once said aapl is worth usd300! this fellow has been challenging yahoo last time, and lately the largest funds blackrock management. i somehow guess he is among others to influence prices thru various pressured means. shark ! mad.gif

all waiting for fed minutes, see if there is any more clue from last month's brief.

chances are nothing or reaffirmation or "no rate hike... yet".
very tempted to get xle now at 79.3x... hmm.gif

not good enough, oil price dives....

exactly! bloomberg just said that it is rather 'unusual' for oil prices to drop despite the latest report of lower data. maybe they are crawling up slowly?

Yes, if you like volatility, OIH is better.

XLE is the base.. OIH is double...  ERX is triple

Options for XLE is 5x .. brows.gif

Anyway, tonight - didn't see any grouper yet.
If still can't see it by closing, I may take those ikan bilis bought below 79.50 and turn into sambal belacan meal.  sad.gif
*
options only 5x? uh, worth a closer look. also will check on the jumping volatiles in OIH and ERX ... drool.gif

If you have an open green position on major indices, close it when it's still green asap.

Agree agree. Took my profit last nite after 10 minutes of opening on twtr. It seems that green color could not maintain its high over the evening. Is it due to lack of market confidence, or many are expecting pullback after recent highs and highs, or many now prefer cash these days?

existing homes sales below expectations + plus jobless incr a bit = delayed rate hike.

add oil price nearing 60 due to iraq.

BULL. laugh.gif
*
yooo, 'my' nymex touching 60 and safe my xle. wooo ...

strange 2- sided debate about rate hike. when data are poor, delayed rate hike and many shout 'bull'!
but the pessimists argue that poor data signal poor economy and these people shout 'bear' !
i think it all depends on their calls > up or down.

similar to jcp, twtr etcetc...when analysts gave bad comments the prices fill recent low level. then, another analyst will make a buy call ... and prices shoot up! i had witnessed many of these for the last few months. i remembered twtr went up tp 55 and got hammered to 36 before the buy call to push it back to 40. this also applies to recent hammering of jcp. big guys are making the calls? is there such thing as analysts 'cartel'?

something to share with u since i think u use cimb like i do.
i recently took profits with sg stocks. cimb allows direct sgd->usd to pay so it's not bad since sgd has been holding up well.

btw, for mid/long term hold, i'll buy if the price is attractive paying little attention to fx.
selling and needing the rm for expense, that's when fx is impt.
for trading, fx doesn't matter - but that's not with cimb but some other broker.
*
i deposit rm into usd at hlib by using its foreign trade acc facility. so i have been using my 'foreign' money at dows when necessary. still waiting for rm to be bit lower for more rm-usd deposit.
