QUOTE(cherroy @ Nov 5 2014, 08:01 AM) Yes, next match is the decider, win against Basel at least 2 goals, then qualifying is still within Liv hand. Providing Real Madrid beats Basel, i think. As in CL when 2 teams locked on the same point time, head to head result is the decider, not goal difference. So basically, next 2 match is a must win in order to qualify to next stage. Back to the game......in perspective with Barca losing here 3-1 recently, 1-0 probably feels quite good! |

QUOTE(melt @ Nov 5 2014, 10:01 AM) Performance looks better as in expectation was none so whatever when you see the starting lineup. It was still the same clueless on attacking and defensively well Mignolet were one of the player who kept the game alive for us. TBFBR did well there for naming mostly fringe player. He might say it was a decent performance but it was absolutely gobsmacked by him. The way I saw it is that there is no winning mentality at all. It was just basically if you are lucky you get a point if not well is ok since I m not expecting a win anyway. Any team going to Bernabau wont be thinking of winning first. They will be cautious. IMO even if Chelsea for all its striking prowess, Mou will be cautious due to Madrid's goal getters. |

QUOTE(melt @ Nov 5 2014, 10:24 AM) I m not expecting a win over there but when I see the startling lineup, I just dont see any chance of him trying to get a win. It was like BR just admitted we are going to lose at there. You are contradicting yourself a bit there. you play with what you have, a squad. Not going for a win does not mean going to lose. right now we dont have a good striking dept with Stur out. Balo isnt blazing. Its probably BR's approach to be pragmatic to play for a draw, hope for a win thingy. Anything more than a loss is a bonus. AND this is with Chelsea game in mind. |

QUOTE(yeelong @ Nov 5 2014, 10:29 AM) If not for Mignolet, we could have conceded more than 3 goals. He made the scoreline looked good, our back 4 still left a lot to be desired when you see more than 26 shot attempted by RM. i understand Toure played well to keep Ronaldo at bay.You can keep teams from attempting to shoot. How many shots were on target? This is Real madrid who's game is attacking footie.......so |

QUOTE(melt @ Nov 5 2014, 10:36 AM) Contradicting? No I dont think so. If you are not expecting something...then....... Not expecting a win doesnt mean that we cant try to win right? Would you see your team trying to get a win or would you prefer to see your team play just to lose? The team they put out was not giving of any hope of trying at all for me Who says anything about playing to lose? Not trying........in perspective a) they were only playing the best team in world(?) b) at their grounds c) attcking team with at least 5 world class players d) our depleted squad e) playing PL leader in 4 days time |

QUOTE(melt @ Nov 5 2014, 11:01 AM) Trying - is at least you put your best player in the team you still have a certain percentage of getting a win. Not trying - you put a weaken team and the percentage of getting a win lowered. As a fan I dont expect but I still wish miracle happen Perspective |

QUOTE(mr_nobigdeal @ Nov 5 2014, 11:34 AM) No comment on the line up. When we lose, people will criticise team selection, but if u won people wil keep quiet and hail BR as genius. Atleast this time he got ball to drop SG. Sterling is just over rated at the moment and should be bench and we rely too much on SG on every match. From this game we can see how worthless new players are and BR should realize that they have waste 100m on transfer. End of december will decide BR fate i foresee. |

For me, BR should take the blame.
Not easy to sat that. The reason being: Do you see a pattern or tactics for our approach? i dont? The tactics have been hap hazard to say the least. It 'appears' that BR is lost, in defence, in transition(midfield) and in attack. Nothing seems to make sense when you see Liverpool play presently. There is absolutely no philosophy to their play. That, blame the manager and coaches. |

QUOTE(Petre @ Nov 11 2014, 10:02 AM) i think BR's personal life is beginning to show its effects... Hahaha!the new girl or the ex wife was the great woman behind the great young manager? i guessed that as well! A curse on BR to leave his wife and cushion up to a young girl. OR it was the missus managing it for him! |

QUOTE(reehdus @ Nov 11 2014, 01:40 PM) I guess sometimes, playing for Southampton, Swansea, West Ham, Villa etc is not the same as playing for Liverpool. Look at the players in our team now who can be called 'successful'. Sturridge and Couts both came from Chelsea and Inter. Yes Balo came from Milan, but I honestly think he's got what it takes. Just need a different playing style. All the other flops have been from average clubs. YaehMarquee or not, the way Liverpool is buying players is worrying right? We're scraping the big players from smaller clubs, when maybe smaller/neglected players from big clubs would do a better job? Players like Isco, Khedira, Shaqiri who've been sidelined by bigger acquisitions at their own club for example. Sure, convincing them to play for us is another thing and wages are important too...but don't tell me the 100M we spent on Lallana, Markovic, Lovren, Lambert etc wouldn't have been better spent on 3 30+ M players and retaining Agger? The transfer over the summer sucks. WE have paid for 20mil players to be on the bench and those on the field have not worked out at all. i am getting convinced that last year was a false dawn perpetuated by the SAS. |

QUOTE(kevafk @ Nov 17 2014, 11:37 PM) no doubt Rafa far more experience and tactically most of the time made the right decision. Previous owners shorten his spell in liverpool but there is nothing to regret about honestly manager come and go. If now i wouldnt want him, i would prefer someone new like Klopp diff style and see where it take us. More money does not mean these players will come.Liverpool never had big transfer fund in the history, this is totally new for spending over 100mil a season. Its like scouts also sien, scout and scout but no action. All the good players taken, think this season's transfer cant just blame BR alone. Perhaps the whole transfer commitee + owners, they offered more money for Sanchez, Shaqiri, Kono, Willian (if rumours are true), Mkirtaryan, Sigursson, Salah, Costa etc etc They need a little push in the transfer. Sometimes the manager may not appeal to them. BR is not exactly a household name compared to Pellegrini, Mouth, etc |

QUOTE(koolspyda @ Dec 1 2014, 03:54 PM) "both managers were lauded for their all out attacking philosophies" at one time or another. They lost their main strikeforce as well.........Gotze and LewandoskiI think the right balance is better. LVG did try to embark at first with MU, but after all the high scoring & conceding goals, he too realised they need a balance. I doubt dortmund will be there long, they too were runners up in the league like us last season. Just what went all wrong, really? |
