It's not rocket science. Suarez was a very mobile player and he's got the skills and enough of pace to get past players from deep or from wide areas. That also freed up other players to run through the middle to provide options for Suarez to pass to. That's why the team had no major problems when Sturridge was injured last season. Balo, unfortunately, is a very different player from Suarez. He may come deep but he's not a dribbler or a runner that can beat 2 defenders at one go. And it's pretty obvious he doesn't have the vision like Suarez to pick out a pass. So, BR really needs to tweak how the team goes forward now because he can't just place Balo as a Suarez-type of player in the team and expect him to do what Suarez did.

If Balo can read his passes then it might work out la. Gerrard usually works well with strikers that can anticipate his passes...like Torres and Suarez..

I'd call BR and tell him if I had his number. But he seems very keen to keep his 4-3-3 or his variation of a 4-5-1 anyway so it's very difficult to convince

Not only the back 4 is the problem then if there's so many shots attempted by opposition. It's the midfielders who are not doing the defensive role well enough as well.

Nowadays, of course there's no player that would turn down an opportunity of playing for a bigger club that offers more money and a better shot at winning major tropies. Money in the game has increased significantly. Gone are the days of "one-club" players.

Actually the 7 simply run forward only hoping they will win the first header and luckily they did or else they would have been countered so badly

Defensive organization is the problem since last season. But this season, the team looks like a bunch of headless chickens when going forward. Toothless offence, leaking defence. Need to have super high level of patience this season or else I'd end up bald by May 2015 because of pulling hair off my head.

There needs to be a better balance in his tactics imo. Right now with a susceptible centre of defence, I don't think 2 wingbacks bombarding towards the front is a good idea when Gerrard is playing the DM role because he simply doesn't have the legs to cope, especially against fast counter-attacking teams.

It's either he plays someone else in the DM role, or partner someone who can do the defensive dirty work alongside Gerrard, or don't push up both wingbacks at the same time. That sacrifices the offence but so far this season even when he overloads on attack, the team still finds it hard to score. So, in short BR has some re-thinking to do to fix the defence and attack as a unit.

Who is going to be the leader of the team? Does Hendo command the respect of the squad enough?
