QUOTE(sahathai @ Nov 4 2014, 10:40 AM) its not a plan B but a whole new plan A It's not rocket science. Suarez was a very mobile player and he's got the skills and enough of pace to get past players from deep or from wide areas. That also freed up other players to run through the middle to provide options for Suarez to pass to. That's why the team had no major problems when Sturridge was injured last season. Balo, unfortunately, is a very different player from Suarez. He may come deep but he's not a dribbler or a runner that can beat 2 defenders at one go. And it's pretty obvious he doesn't have the vision like Suarez to pick out a pass. So, BR really needs to tweak how the team goes forward now because he can't just place Balo as a Suarez-type of player in the team and expect him to do what Suarez did. QUOTE(hifzil @ Nov 4 2014, 04:28 PM) BR mind game? gerrad play CAM + balo could be great combo i guess If Balo can read his passes then it might work out la. Gerrard usually works well with strikers that can anticipate his passes...like Torres and Suarez..

QUOTE(yeelong @ Nov 4 2014, 04:39 PM) eh, i tot most of his passes were asking the receivers to run for it. I remember last time got couple of time he passed and the runners failed to get the ball, kena scold kao kao by him. I think it was Downing. Downing not striker that's why.. And also Balo doesn't look like the kind of player that will run for through balls.

QUOTE(wadefak @ Nov 4 2014, 04:51 PM) more reasons to have a partner pairing up with him upfront. preferably Borini. its hard for him to distract defenders when he needs to play out wide. let other midfielders play in that position. he can focus on forward runs I'd call BR and tell him if I had his number. But he seems very keen to keep his 4-3-3 or his variation of a 4-5-1 anyway so it's very difficult to convince

QUOTE(M_Shahrul @ Nov 4 2014, 05:21 PM) Its f**kin Gareth Bale!! An in-form Gareth Bale!! It's the whole RM team that's on form. Not only him yo.. They're scoring for fun while our defence is leaking goals for fun too. So, sembahyang lah kuat sikit tonight. Concede less than 3 goals I consider quite decent already.

QUOTE(cherroy @ Nov 5 2014, 09:57 AM) Don't need. As if Liv win next 2 matches, Liv will be finish at 9 points. While if Basel win against RM, Basel also will finish with 9 points. So head to head result become the decider. So the next match result against Basel is important.Next match is Ludogorets. Don't win that most probably out. Still depending on Basel's result against Real

QUOTE(yeelong @ Nov 5 2014, 10:29 AM) If not for Mignolet, we could have conceded more than 3 goals. He made the scoreline looked good, our back 4 still left a lot to be desired when you see more than 26 shot attempted by RM. Not only the back 4 is the problem then if there's so many shots attempted by opposition. It's the midfielders who are not doing the defensive role well enough as well.

QUOTE(kenlimfornication @ Nov 5 2014, 03:06 PM) Money + Glory. It's a no brainer for many players. Actually I can't think of any world class players who stays in their club when they have an opportunity to move. Even Gerrard almost moved to Chelsea if we didn't win in Istanbul. Nowadays, of course there's no player that would turn down an opportunity of playing for a bigger club that offers more money and a better shot at winning major tropies. Money in the game has increased significantly. Gone are the days of "one-club" players.

Defensive organization is the problem since last season. But this season, the team looks like a bunch of headless chickens when going forward. Toothless offence, leaking defence. Need to have super high level of patience this season or else I'd end up bald by May 2015 because of pulling hair off my head.

QUOTE(RedSiglap56 @ Nov 17 2014, 05:26 PM) Actually Hendo has really been off form this season. His poor showing for England and own goal against Slovenia is a culmination of this. Ignoring this may well prove costly for Liverpool. Tackle the problem urgently. In the meantime, Hendo has to be replaced until his problem can be resolved. Who do you suggest to replace Hendo in midfield then? Let's face it, Gerrard will start. And probably Can too based on his performance against Chelsea. So, that leaves Allen and Lucas..

There needs to be a better balance in his tactics imo. Right now with a susceptible centre of defence, I don't think 2 wingbacks bombarding towards the front is a good idea when Gerrard is playing the DM role because he simply doesn't have the legs to cope, especially against fast counter-attacking teams.
It's either he plays someone else in the DM role, or partner someone who can do the defensive dirty work alongside Gerrard, or don't push up both wingbacks at the same time. That sacrifices the offence but so far this season even when he overloads on attack, the team still finds it hard to score. So, in short BR has some re-thinking to do to fix the defence and attack as a unit.

QUOTE(bitebug @ Nov 20 2014, 02:49 PM) Why not just drop Gerrard and play someone else in the spot? Oh wait, I forgot. BR doesn't have the balls. Who is going to be the leader of the team? Does Hendo command the respect of the squad enough?

QUOTE(yeelong @ Nov 24 2014, 11:08 AM) he is beyond criticized. I will still give him chance lar, he can't be doing quite well at Soton, and suddenly degraded into bad player just less than 6 months. I blame this on BR since he refused to get a defensive coach. Our D Line are like headless flies now. Lost cause la Lovren. At this point, playing Toure also might be a better idea. I wonder who organizes the defence these days.
