Hi would like to ask between QQQ vs QQQM which is better if my intention is to invest and hold for like 20-30 years? I did some research and below are the findings:
Pros of QQQM: -lower expense ratio at 0.15 compared to 0.20 for QQQ -comparable performance to QQQ -tracks almost similarly to QQQ(negligible differences)
Cons of QQQM: -introduced in year 2022 which means still quite new with less volume and higher spread cost. -it might be merged with QQQ or terminated in future -unsure of future performance
If i am not planning to do options /trading should I go with QQQM? Since it is quite new But would the future performance be a concern since both ETFs tracks similar holdings?

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ Mar 7 2024, 04:33 PM) IYW, IXN n XLK are broad based tech etfs. You probably just need one. AIQ n QTUM are for tech sector bets, which is your own bet. May i ask Why those ETFs instead of QQQ / QQQM?

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ Mar 8 2024, 08:35 AM) Yes u have to be aware of fees. Also with many Etfs u usually hv to pay higher brokerage as well. Btw these tech etfs usually pay little if any dividends. And US has dividend witholding taxes as well. So if u want nice dividends look elsewhere. These are mainly for capital gains. And be careful, market esp tech is damn high now. It could go higher further but be mindful. Market tech going higher means it could be over valued for now and not worth to buy at such high price? What if my plan is to buy and hold for like 20-30yrs should I still continue buying single tech stocks for now? Also for ETFs like QQQ , CSPX is it okay to buy (DCA regularly) even if the tech market is selling high now?

QUOTE(Medufsaid @ Mar 16 2024, 07:06 PM) lola88 SXLK is Irish domiciled. So 15% withholding tax instead of 30% SXLK is fully the tech sectors compared to QQQM/QQQ which is tech heavy. Just wondering if you buy SXLK, will you be concerned if the holdings with higher weightage like APPL suddenly goes down? Also these ETFs dont gv alot of dividend, so does the 30% WHT significantly reduces the capital gain? Im asking again because I am still deciding btwn QQQM vs SXLK. Also Ramjade , can I get your thoughts for these? If you were me, would you pick SXLK or QQQM/QQQ? I dont intend to options anyway but will the 30% WHT be a significant drawback on capital gains?
