Interested in used L920 set , because there is a W8.1 upgrade that could give
new life to this old phone. What are the issues in upgrading the software from
W8.0 ? Can I use Nokia Software Updater ( download to PC ) to do or just OTA

You can use NSU to update to 8.1, but it's much riskier (your phone must be plugged in to your computer during resetting, otherwise it may bricked your phone)

Just that my Andriod has broken and I saw that the UI of W8.1 looking pretty
A refurbished L920 can be bought from alibaba china about usd 150 , and since
can update the software , I thinking can try windows phone ( never use one before)
I will give it a Go.

I would recommend you to buy a local unit rather than a China import, not sure if its original /or the condition. a few others & me is selling used unit of Lumia 920.

Firmware update is based on country, if you had a china set you wont be getting update sametime as in Malaysia.

Will consider this deeply as I also read that W8.5 is being
worked on by microsoft. This will bring interest back to
Lumia , especially the older models.

I had tried Lumia 920 once. Their camera is awesome good!

Wonder if the retail to W8.1 upgrade will solve issues like
heat and software , all at one go , for L920
