Can find any thread for this camera (Canon PowerShot G7 X) Is it available locally now? I saw that it is listed in Canon's website with price tag of RM1,999. Seems reasonable to if compared to RX100MII. (or MIII)
I think the guy in the video that tell you about G7X eh Neistat previously use Canon S120 (which he still use in the video) until he change to this one.

Very curious to see the user experience from this camera befire decide to get one for myself n I like its made in japan too:-) hope to hear fr u soon.
so far i am impress for the image quality and low light performance for this camera, just the image sharpness could be better, will post some sample image when i able.
Pfffttt... Go straight for the beast - LUMIX LX100!
Oh good job The LX100 does look so much better than the g7x in every way. But you have to realize it costs more than RM1000+ than the G7X. I can't find many shops that have the LX100 yet and when they do they are pricing it at RM2990.
Pro - Cheap , focal range is good , touch screen Cons - soft at close up , locked few feature when jpeg+raw , miss focus, bit heavy
Was from Nikon to canon and from DSLR to compact not so familiar with system and color. I have a sony QX100 which color is same like Nikon n found sony is bit cleaner when come to high iso but detail wise canon is slight better.
Still need some times to adapt and found out some other features.
not much post here, not many people using this camera? am surveying this g7x vs sony rx 100 m3, any user here mind to share the experience using this cam?
overall good cam compared to rx100 m3, better zoom and external control. focus something abit slow... the most important is the handling, better than rx100 (slippery) but g7x got thumb grip.

Thx for the info, currently not sure which to choose, online review mostly state m3 slightly better, and after some survey current selling package for m3 quite attractive( free ori battery, casing 16gb) while g7x cheaper but after add on the memory card, casing and battery etc, different in price not much d.
A lot of review state battery life quite poor, is this true ?

I think overall both are good, just choose which 1 you like, I choosed g7x because I liked the handling + more zoom (bigger plus point compared to Sony) + Canon menu system (I dont like Sony menu system from my previous experiance).
Battery life quite good actually and similiar to Sony, I'm getting 3xx shots per charged. Not sure why Canon spec saying only 210, sone review also mentioned about this (but I forgot which review).
I think size of the camera is the concern here....
You need lens to matched Gx7 in EOS M + it will become bigger in size. See which way is suitable for you. my main camera is OMD. I'm using g7x as my pocket camera. I have many cameras but nothing bet pocket camera.

So, overall I liked canon.
thx for the info, mind to share the price u get and what are include in the package? Do u think extra battery and casing is needed?

rm17xx. Now getting cheaper around 1699 - http://www.lazada.com.my/canon-powershot-g...ck-1207013.html I dont need casing because I liked the naked metal body + faster to shoot without it. also case will make it bulky if I carry with office pants. If going out on weekend, I just use standard small belt pouch.

lol, i just bought g7x before cny. if the g7xm2 is sharper at wide angle, i consider to get the g7xm2
btw, i have trouble focusing on people's face during potrait shot. should i use servo OR continuos focus, use face af or box af ?
Right now to be sure i get sharp picture, i have to shoot in continuous AF with face AF
I don't have the G7X but from playing with it, I find the AF slow and inaccurate... Often focusing on more contrasty things instead of where I point it.
is there diferences between local and imported cameras ?
im considering rx100m3 and g7x ... but the m3 is alot more expensive.
btw which shop offer cheap package of rx100m3 and g7x with memory or memory+case ?
Tested both of these at shop, the canon needs to stop down to f4 thereabouts to be sharp. The Sony is sharp right off the bat at f/1.8. Of coz i bought the rx100m3.

i bought g7x 1.4k new 6months ago (just dont ask how) I like the external controls and feel in hand and preset focus at F4 just nice - zero lag just like my Ricoh grd3
Canon has introduced the PowerShot G7 X Mark II with a new DIGIC 7 processor, bringing much-needed improvements to camera performance. Maintaining its predecessor's 20.1MP 1"-type CMOS sensor and 24-100mm equiv. F1.8-2.8 lens, the G7 X II brings some updates to the camera's exterior as well, with a re-designed grip, bottom-hinged 3" 1.04M-dot LCD and a front control dial that can switch between clicking or smooth-turning operation.
The new processor allows for face registration and better subject detection in scenes of low saturation or similar colors. In addition, it dramatically speeds up camera performance, with Canon claiming continuous 8 fps Raw shooting. Battery life is also 25% better than the original G7 X, with a CIPA-rated number of 265 shots per charge.
Full 1080/60p HD video is offered, as in its predecessor, along with Wi-Fi and NFC. The G7 X II provides Picture Style processing modes borrowed from the EOS DSLR line, and time-lapse movie mode is included.
The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II will be offered for $699 with availability in May.
