I agree, this game is far from scary. Probably the thought of a screwed up society might be scary like the movie "Children of Men".

Doom was scary until the closet thingie jumped out like 100th time.

FEAR was scary when you actually saw that little girl running around. Sometimes might totally missed it (ie. not looking when you supposed to)

I like Bioshock not just because of its gameplay, I like its story and the setting which is quite different from our usual enemies like aliens, mutants, nazi, japanese (in world war 2), demons and so on.

The twist in the storyline was quite interesting almost as good as the Star Wars:Knights of the Old Republic. The success of Bioshock will hopefully encourage developers and publishers to spend more time on creating a world of their own instead of just plain plagiarizing the obvious.
