Anyway, the only major difference with previous processor with the skylake series would be i7-6x00 series has onboard graphics (Good for troubleshooting when your dedicated graphics is down) and consume lesser power than the previous gen. In terms of 3D rendering, both would still be very similar too(4 core, 8 threads, both have Hyper Threading). I think that wouldn't be a problem if you wanna go with the current processor for now.

But if you go to gaming, best of all you will not even notice any big difference when you game between those 2 as current gaming tech still heavily relying on your graphics card to process.
Unless the GPU manufacture will release the new series of GPU, that would be another story.
